Entry hazards are a useful tool, should you choose to use them. They are an important inclusion to the series, because they add another class of options to the many ways a player can battle. They can be a strategy to include during a casual pokémon journey, a nuzlocke, in the official in-game matchmakers, in the unofficial matchmakers on online simulators, in official VGC tournaments, and in unoffical/unsanctioned matches in person where any two people with a Switch can have competitive matches following the exact pokémon company rules. Though you can legally use hazards in any of these formats, mentioning that this is a possibility is just that, mentioning that you have the agency as a thinking being to use hazards. Acknowledging the possibility that hazards can be used by any player for any reason in any game mode whether singles, doubles, triples, rotation, inverse battles, official, unofficial, online, offline, etc is not an endorsement of their specific or overall viability.
But Pokémon has a Stealth Rock problem, and can become more problematic as the game evolves around them. We aim to fix it today, now in 4K!
This video's script was written around the end of May, so things related to the meta changes after a month of Pokémon HOME release has not been factored in this video. This had to come out before I release any other type reworks since Stealth Rock will always be brought up if Rock-type effectiveness is ever brought up.
This video isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but I have pitched this as if pitching it straight to Game Freak themselves.
As usual, check the pinned comment for corrections and updates from me and the community!
