The STEAM camp is an opportunity for students and teachers from around Guinea to participate in a four-day science camp. This is what some of the attendees had to say about the camp last year.
A team of 8 Peace Corps volunteers has been working since November to plan this year's conference, and it's almost ready. All that remains is to fund it! Like any Peace Corps grant, over a quarter of the grant comes in the form of a community contribution. This includes discounts on food or lodging, donated time, or donated materials. What remains is the amount you see on these grants. To provide some context, here is a snapshot of how your contributions will help:
$5 - total food expense for one person
$10 - notebooks for all participants
$50 - magnifying glasses, protection goggles, multimeters, and math instruments for various activities
$100 - renting a conference room for 4 days
$600 - lodging for all 63 people (5 nights)
$1000 - round trip transportation for 54 people
