This video gives a comparison of the original Helldivers running on both the PS Vita OLED and Steam Deck OLED. The PS Vita version is running from a microSD card (using SD2VITA on a modded system); the Steam Deck version is also running from a microSD. As with all of these videos, the purpose is above all else to compare the visuals and performance between the two devices for the game.
The Steam Deck version runs at a locked 90fps and the Vita version runs at (what appears to be) 30fps. The recording is at 60fps. I set the Deck's fps cap / refresh rate to 90fps/90Hz.
There are limited graphical options on the Deck version (none on Vita), but I did turn off Chromatic Abberation. The Deck ran the game at 1280x720 (only because I forgot to check if it could be set to 1280x800). The Vita's max resolution is 544p, but I am not sure of its actual resolution for this game.
Some notes:
1. The timers are basically fixed for this video, but somehow are ahead by .03 seconds. There does not seem to be any real way to fix it as far as I can tell.
2. I was obviously having some issues using the rear touchpad when playing on Vita, but this was more user error than the fault of the rear touchpad (though I still find it to be the one thing I genuinely dislike about this handheld).
3. I did the best I could to get all areas relatively in the same areas for the a better, more direct comparison. The main exceptions were in the initial training mission where the tasks were done in a different order and the multiplayer due to going to different missions.
4. I added some graphics throughout to indicate when footage has been paused (when waiting for the other to load or get to the same spot in the game) and which game's audio is playing.
