your production quality is good but i would suggest you to lower the game's volume

Steam deck built for low war performance between 3w to 15w but is really strong at 10w or less. ROG Ally was built with 15w to 30w in mind but can play games at 8-10 w but needs better support from Asus and AMD to get better performance at the lower wattages

Seems like the steam deck is more balanced overall between its fps (which is lower but more consistent) and battery life.

How many Vram you setting? Many reported if Setting at auto, Ally will set at 4GB …that might make worse performance for demand gaming 🤔

I'm using the auto option for VRAM. But RDR2 isn't maxing out the VRAM, it isn't as demanding as other games, at least regarding VRAM at the resolutions the Ally runs at.

can anyone tell me how to set it to 10w on the steam deck?

You need to press the three-dot button on the Steam Deck. Then, go to the menu that has the battery icon. Toggle on the 'Manual TDP Control'. After that, you can adjust the slider to set the TDP to whatever value you want to use.

Majority of people are missing the point comparing current Ally to Steam Deck..... Basically I blame ROG for this, the true competitor to Steam Deck is Ally non Extreme version.... Ally Extreme is made for TDP: 15-30W Ally non Extreme is made for TDP: 9-15W The non Extreme beats Steam Deck at those TDPs while Extrem beats Steam Deck at it's optimised TDPs..... I personally won't recommend Steam Deck to anyone, and I have both with me including other Handhelds, non Extreme Ally will be king of low TDP according to leaks

The reason the majority are missing this is because there is no evidence what you wrote is true.

Everything below 40 fps is unplayable for me... so only the Ally can run RDR2.

Did you watch the video? Steam Deck was consistently hitting 40+ FPS, with only a few dips into 38-39FPS. This was medium settings, so with a few tweaks, you can easily hit consistent 40FPS with the same battery life as Ally :)

I'm happy with 24 fps and optimistic with 30 FPS except for competitive FPS games.

@nathanlamaire exactly..i consider 60 fps a luxury..cuz growing up i played most games on 30+ fps evens now for some higher-end games

ally screen is 1080 so it'd look worse with lower resolution than steam deck. That's the advantage of lower res screen vs upsampling

It doesn't look worse on the Ally. In fact it looks better than on the Steam Deck.
