I’m currently getting ready to build one of these! Except mine will either be A3 ‘Papyrus’ or 60103 ‘Flying Scotsman’

Well worth the effort for a 'finished' effect.

Your engines Russell and Blanche are fine loco's. How did you achieve the rivet detail on your models? I am building a rake of ICI limestone hopper wagons, in Gauge 1, 10mm scale. I am far from being a rivet counter, however the riveting on these wagons is very prominent and I need to achieve at least a passing resemblance.

Hi Steve, I used real rivets. They're not actually holding thing together in most cases. I just drill a hold and carefully flatten the back with a hammer. You could also use super glue to hold them. I have a variety of small rivet down to 3/64" diameter I bought a while ago online. I have heard of pinheads from the sewing being cut down and used but those you have to glue in.
