Stuck in lockdown, a walk to my local railway line to get a fix of railway and train photography, photographing a number of freight trains including British Railways steam train K1 62005. Follow my morning railway photographer adventure, capturing a number of GBRf Class 66 and Freightliner Class 66 locomotives on rail freight along with Freightliner Class 70 and a DB Class 67. A busy morning looking to make some artistic railway photography, this video includes a focus stack train photograph, merged in photoshop.
The focus-stacked photo over the pond was made up of 8 images, merged in Photoshop, the latest Photoshop does a great job automatically, there's very little skill required, other than getting the images right in the first place - I might do a sperate video on this at some point.
Filmed between Leeds and Woodlesford Station in February 2021.
I’m proud to be a member of the Phoenix Railway Photographic circle and equally honoured to be awarded ‘Photographer of the year’ in this anniversary year.
2021 represents a significant milestone in the history of the Phoenix Railway-Photographic Circle with the celebration of our 50th anniversary. Phoenix was set up in spring 1971 and was created to promote an alternative approach to railway photography.
