The Harz narrow-gauge railways, with their 140.4 km route network, form the largest contiguous narrow-gauge railway network in Germany. Even today, the main loads are carried by the class 99.23-24 steam locomotives of the former Deutsche Reichsbahn. They are mainly known through their use on the Brockenbahn and Harzquerbahn. You can climb the slopes of the Upper Harz with up to 7 cars. Occasionally, these steam locomotives are also used on the Selketalbahn between Quedlinburg and Eisfelder Talmühle.
Experience the unadulterated performance of steam locomotives in the 21st century.
