The part about the record companies is so, so true. Around 1992 or 1993 the big record companies basically decided to get together and turn their backs on the LA Metal and Rock scene. That's when all the music started coming out of Seattle or other Alternative stuff instead. Metal was screwed over. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of Alternative bands the companies could make money with, but there were plenty of awesome metal and hard rock bands too - And everyone could have made cash but metal was screwed. A lot of good bands that were about to break out got screwed over. Thank you, Steel Panther for speaking the truth about the record companies in a way that Dire Straits did with Money for Nothing and the Beastie Boys did with Sabotage, but about what they did to Metal. Every Record Exec who was in on that should suck Steel Panther's balls, and Sebastian Bach's too while they're at it.

Absolutely ingenious. Loved 70's and 80's Metal. Still do. The hilarity of Steel Panther's lyrics is propped up by amazing musicianship. Starr is awesome vocally and goes from Vince Neil/David Lee Roth/Jon Bon Jovi nuances effortlessly. He was the greatest DLR singer of any Van Halen Tribute. Thanks for posting!

Hey Bullet, you're right. A great percentage of people devoted to metal also listen to other styles of music. But, the only people "hurting" metal.,..are ourselves. I am 53 y/o, and my primary music is metal and hard rock. I started by listening to Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, etc. That was back in '68-73. Everything changed when a band from New York appeared on the Mike Douglas Show in March of 1974. It was the first time I saw KISS, I was 13, and was floored. Gene came out to talk to Mike and the guests, and these people looked at him like he was from Mars! Seriously. America was a totally different place back then, and these guys were a shock. All kinds of people started calling them clowns, and thought they would kill Rock & Roll. I am trying tom say....these guys are a "show" just like KISS. I saw Steel Panther in Dallas a while back. They play a few songs, and then during a 7-8 minute break they have a comedy routine that is so cool. They know they are going way over the top on replicating 80's metal. But they are an excellent metal band, and you should watch some of their live footage on here. Funny, and very talented. \m/ Metal will never die! Never!
