I've returned through the door of no return On Goree Island I've returned through the door of no return On Goree Island Oh I remember I once dressed as a king Decked in fine robes and everything The blood that's in my veins is pure royalty I ruled many kingdoms and ruled many dynasties Then all of a sudden I was in a state of shock Caught and thrown on the auction block Just like Jesus I was flogged and mocked Now human cargo yes they said I wasn't coming back I was that prisoner who was fighting to be free Free from my enemies who came and capture me That was the years of brutality Cannot be wiped away so easily Although they have removed the chains They try so hard to wash my brain Want I to bow my head in shame But when I think of the Motherland I hear the spirits call my name I was that prisoner who was fighting to be free Free from my enemies who came and capture me That was the years of brutality Cannot be wiped away so easily Lets light the torch let Babylon burn yah! I was that prisoner who was fighting to be free Free from my enemies who came and capture me That was the years of brutality Cannot be wiped away so easily I'n I' survive yeah heh! Gory Goree, gory Goree gory Goree Brand new story Gory Goree, gory Goree Got the power and the glory On Goree Island A Goree Island in a Senegal Top

Of all the " Jamaican Reggae groups " This one is my Favorite " ! From my " Perspective " there is No other Group in this Category of Music as well practiced and accomplished as they are . And their In-ovation doesn't hurt them either ! I hope they can produce good to top of the Line songs as long as they want to ! They're also one of the most prolific groups out there ! " Thank you, Gentlemen " !

Tears came to my eyes when these videos were suggested to me. Oh, how I miss message reggae music. Glad to know with all the bullshit music around, Steel Pulse still lives...how long will ye simple ones will ye love simplicity? We better rise and awake from our slumbering mentalities. Conscious reggae music has risen again.

Man Dingo, like every other reggae artist that existed before, and during the time of Steel Pulse, their music has evolved. Please name me one artist who hasn't deviated slightly from their original style. While we all would love to hear another Handsworth Revolution or Earth Crisis, we can't and we won't but there is no way that you can possibly criticize Steel Pulse for this music. It is still better than 100 percent of anything that came out around the same time.

While we all enjoy this wonderful educational music from Steel Pulse, let's not forget our history and FYI Texas is now teaching children in their school education system that slaves were "workers" and NOT slaves. The white man is not done with his holocaust. So, we have work to do...while we dance.

I agree with most of what you write. However, even though slavery has existed it has been white Europeans racists who have perfected racism, have made it a System and the only ones who have capitalized the enslavement of human beings. Your last line "let go of the past..." is one I hear often and I can only say that people who don't learn from that past will NEVER learn anything about what's going on in the Present so that they will be informed to change their Future. We can unite in the gift of the present, but, sweetie, if you don't recognize history, it's never going to happen. The Europeans recognize their past, and their history; they don't forget what they went through and what they did to others, this way, they don't commit those mistakes again making it the only way to move forward. "Those who don't know their history are DOOMED to repeat it."
@joybarry968

This is not about pointing fingers, this is about looking at facts, statistics, studies and numbers most white racists refuse to look at. You write "if you think its soley white people, well that's why it will never get better", well, if YOU think it's all black people (which is NOT), then, you're no better either. White racists do NOT want to look at evidence, or statistics, or numbers or proof of any kind because it does NOT suit their racist agenda. Watch  this documentary titled, Black Lives Matter; the documentary goes very deep into the NUMBERS of the systematic racism that is decomposing this country. It's astonishing. From mass incarceration, to public education, employment, housing, gun crimes, the systematic racism in this country is extreme. If you want to deny that, that's your problem. Also, check out this other documentary by Tim Wise titled White Like Me. Watch it and learn something about the LONG HISTORY OF RACISM in this country. The United States was born out of HATE and RACISM, since 1492, and that's a fact. By the way, Mr. Tim Wise is a white male.

Your post reeks of ignorance and malinformation. Jessie Jackson has been active about black on black crime, maybe you're not paying attention. I personally find it disgusting that if you're a black person you don't seem to have the compassion and caring for poor people who MUST survive on welfare and food stamps, NOT because they are lazy, but, because life and this racist system in this country has dealt them a bad hand after they did EVERYTHING they were supposed to do. It is often that people follow the law, obey the rules, do the right thing, and they still get screwed!!! Your post lacks humanity, love, and concern for your fellow person. You sound to me like someone who just loves to argue, debate and go back and forth when your ignorance and your brainwashed views come afloat.
