I'm a 16 year old boy and I started watching your videos and I feel like this is the closest I've gotten to a father figure. I have a dad but even though he lives with me and my mom it feels like I just don't have a father. He gets home from work, he sometimes doesn't even say hi to me and then he goes and plays video games. I appreciate these videos you make. Thank you.

it really is one of the most important life lessons. It took me years to cut off a toxic friend who was constantly taking advantage of me financially, and of my good nature. for 10 + years he knew I would bend. One day I simply wasn't there for him anymore. and i'm not the only one. Life's about being happy and surrounding yourself with happy and productive, supporting people.

That would mean cutting out my family (only talking about mother, father, and brother). I first need to surround myself with positive people, before I can cut out the toxic people, as otherwise it is too big of a gap for me

My frieand. I have subscribed to your channel for a little while now and been watching your videos here and there. And I am yet to be dissapointed. Now, I am only 19 and have been working to help my family for almost a year now. But I am beginning to come to the point where I am finally able to focus on my goals and surprisingly, I have nothing.😅 I do have big goals like moving to the US, but I am scared and illadvised. And since I have watched your videos, I gained more and more confidence in myself, because you taught me more life lessons in 2 months than I have learnt in 5 years. I am more motivated, happier, well rounded and all around just better since an I can't thank you enough. If there is any way I could support you and your goal, please let me know. No matter how. The things you have taught me are more valuable than gold or ideas. I will pray for you and your crew's safe journey, luck and happiness and all the love. From an admirer; Peter Erdesz❤

Dewayne, When I watch your videos I get the sense of listening to a friend who's been through the same things as I have. I'm a little older than you (67). My wife and I are on an incredible journey towards the goal of building our on home with our own hands after renting for 40 years. Carpenter, Farrier (for 20 years) and after "retiring" from Horse shoeing I started my Architectural Blacksmith shop (railings, gates furniture, knives, axes, tool making and teaching). Our property is 750 miles away near Flagstaff Az. So for the past 7 years I have traveled back and forth dozens of time hauling thousands of lbs. of lumber. My 2007 Ford F350 has 196,000 miles on it. The maintenance is crucial. I have to cross the Mojave desert every time. I carry tools, spare parts, duct tape and bailing wire (just in case). It has never stranded me in the middle of no where (which is most of the trip!). It used to scare me in the beginning but after a while you become used to the danger and in my mind I know that whatever happens I will just deal with it. I guess you could call it the "Courage muscle". Nothing scares me anymore because I am on a quest and have the goal of living a life "rent free" . My son is a Master Diesel Mechanic and is the foreman/ shop manager for a Drilling Company. If the truck breaks down we will have a plan if needed. This has been the greatest adventure of my life. Sounds like we're on the same journey. God speed my friend.

@@NathanMulder Nathan, This is year 7 of a 5 year plan. I truly had no idea what it would take but I was willing to risk failure which was ever present in the beginning. Success is failure turned inside out. The challenges are real and daunting at times. Pandemic, inflation, supply issues, gas prices, building material price hikes and shortages....the list seems endless sometimes. It's the GOAL of living a life free of rent (for both our home and shop for 40 years). I always dreamed of building our home with my own hands. We started in 2016 when I turned 60! I'm a late bloomer boomer. hahaha. The only deadline is dying. Even if I die before finishing it's been the greatest adventure of my life and I am leaving a legacy for my children and grandbabies. It will be a place of sanctuary, refuge and safety for their lives as well. That gives me great comfort and peace. I am truly happy and blessed.

You're videos have really helped guide me as the young man I want to be. Your vessel in a storm video was very helpful in particular as was the forging a tempered blade. She was the only person in my caravan. No other family. The only person I loved more than myself was my mother, and I lost her. My best friend and essentially my world. I lived with her during winters when I wasn't farming and ranching. Extreme grief is so damaging, the vehicle is a rusty bucket of bolts. When all your supports fail you, the obvious solution is to support yourself, but how do you maintain your maintenance. You are the type of man I want to be, and essentially a youtube father figure and it kills me that she will never get to see that evolution. I've been sleeping with her saddle on her side of the bed since. My destination always had my mother there, now that she's gone I feel like my destination is gone too. You're a good man Dwayne.

I learned a lot of life lessons painting houses. My dad was a WW2 vet he did carpenter and painting work and of course growing up I worked with him. When he retired I carried on the painting work. The goal was to ceil the outside of the house with painting and you got to do it. It was my lively hood and I had a reputation to uphold so it had to be done. Then to drive away knowing I did the job and the owner was satisfied there is a certain feeling from that, well it is hard to explain. You know what I mean. So I hear and feel what you are saying. Sometimes I wonder if I could live that way again but I guess I am too old. Well I will hush. Be good be safe and have fun. Wonder where that came from?

I've practiced a little *Mantra* in my own life; whenever I've been unexpectedly diverted from a person, place, or thing (like your whole crew was during the bad weather) and it absolutely works to keep me calm & focused! Whenever there's a traffic back up, or something else, like bad weather, or a longer line at the grocery store ect. I don't get impatient or upset about it; I just smile & remind myself that Divine Timing is always at work, and then I say my little mantra to myself: *It is NOT happening TO ME* *It is happening FOR ME* I hope that saying helps anyone who comes across this video & this comment! 🤗

Yet another snowstorm coming thru the Rockies here in northern CO. Building the time to hunker down if needed is a key part of any long trip. Just like in Life as you talk about. Being prepared is .. well maybe the actual thinking about being prepared as in not what do I need for this trip but first ' i better be prepared just in case something happens I dont think of.' Just thinking and setting your goals comes with age / maturing. I didnt have many goals in my 20s and 30s since I seemed to be happy but my work was enveloping my life, maybe too much so. But into my 50s that all changed where I started setting timeframes 'I'll do this for 2 years and if its good give it another year". Saw it thru that timeframe and learned it wasnt what i wanted to do forever. So I began figuring to set a new final goal. Now in my early 60s i wish I had set a couple goals earlier in life cause looking back I feel a little regret wasting so much time in one thing. But am hard charging now for the final right one in sight. Dwayne your video further reinforces good thinking for direction and goals. Safe travels, Be careful. Slow n Steady wins the race in the end !
