From a long time Steinberger player: Look under the tuners. There's a knurled knob and a little lever. When engaged, the lever locks the whammy. Tune the guitar with the lock on, it won't be a struggle. When the lock is disengaged the whole guitar may go sharp or flat... don't panic! The knurled knob adjusts the spring tension of the whammy and will bring the whole guitar to pitch.

Cheers Scott - yeah that makes sense. I really should have checked the instructions first! I couldn’t believe all the saddles fell out. What a nightmare. I guess they stay in place if you only change one string at a time?
@scottmarshall5284
3 жыл бұрын
@@DunsysGuitarWorld On the bass side of the casting there's a very small allen key set screw that presses the saddles together once you set the intonation. That said, i DO change strings one at a time on all my guitars, theoretically keeping tension on the neck (probably only an issue in my head Hah!)

I had a Sprit GT model and the tremolo system is horrible, I returned it, the notch of that leveler that' supposed to keep it "locked" is too small and with a little pressure it snaps and the tremolo floats again, the pickups sound weak and muddy too

Love mine. I chucked the stock pups as they’re pretty awful and threw in three new ones which cost as much as the guitar did. Locked the trem with the switch inder the bridge and the tuning stability is incredible. Everything else is top notch. Feels great to play sitting or standing. Highly recommended. I wanted one since I was 15. Got mine finally when I was 45 I use it in the band though I get a bit of shit for it. Don’t care.

They started making them in indonesia in 2020. Same time they made the inspired by gibson epiphones in indonesia. I suspect they are made in the same production line as the epi's. Fretwork and finish is much more better than the chinese ones... I am absolutely crazy about these, they are my main guitars. After a while, anything with a regular shape and headstock started to feel weird to me... Now i'm stuck addicted to this shape, and to this playing position while sitting down and using the leg rest

Liked the Krokus t shirt but then it disappeared! No one of our generation did not have Metal Rendezvous. Triffic album. First heard Bedside Radio on the Friday Rock Show with Tommy Vance about 12 thousand years ago. Anyway, thought the Steinberger sounded good. Clean and overdriven. I noted with a chuckle how the first dirty toned riff you did was a Crue song. Looks That Kill. Daft song. Great riff tho! Mick Marrs was great at recycling riffs to make them his own. Piece Of Your Action be my favourite to hear and play - very satisfying. Enjoyed the demo. Nice one. Isn't Steinberger a beer as well? Cheers - PT. 🤘🏴🎸

It was worth getting the guitar just for the picture opportunity! Yeah, it can bend up as well. I tend to be all about the trem for a week or so, then lock it and just go back to playing normally. I haven't used a guitar with a trem on stage since the 1980's - I tend to just take one guitar to shows and there's nothing worse than trying to find a hex allen key on a dark stage after a beer (or two..)!

For me its either this or a carbon reinforced jackson. I need a strong neck due to humidity in my place. I was even thinking of getting the spirit and slamming a fixed neck relief position in place permanently with the addition of carbon rods that are glued in. I am pretty sure the spirit does not have carbon in the necks unlike the older models.

Glad to see a proper Weegie review of this guitar - the last one I watched was a total hatchet job by an insane anti-vaxxer (don't ask me why that part's relevant - he made a point of saying it himself in the description). I used to have a Hohner G3T back in the eighties and I loved it to bits. Now I'm in my mid 50s I mainly play synths but I kind of feel that my Strats don't quite fit the synthwave aesthetic. I think one of these might be just what I'm looking for.
