If you’d compare the comparable O1 Steinhart you’ll find that the price and the optional size of 39mm is a plus that can’t be ignored! If you have a rather slender wrist 39x13x47 is just perfect for a diver! Gives a certain chunk that a diver should have imo but is never too large! Got mine a month ago and love it!!

I have two Steinharts(both 39mm) and know they are excellent quality. And while I would like 42mm size, the straight lugs makes me doubtful about getting that size. The shorter l2l of the 39mm model works good on my 17cm wrist, though. When it comes to the design this is a matter of personal opinion. In my eyes the Steinhart looks better than the Davosa in this video.

Excellent review comparison, as usual! I have many Steinharts but no Davosas. By the way, I am a BIG FAN of tapered bracelets so that might stop my chances of getting the Davosa right there (I realize it's tapered but not much). Lately I have been buying better quality brands and have sort of put the Steinharts aside. But if I am doing something where the watch I am wearing might get damaged- you know which one I put on. Value-wise, the Steinhart is unbeatable IMO. And a very good watch, price notwithstanding.

Good video expressing your reason for choice of watch! Each watch has something that appeals to the buyer! I myself would have selected the squale brand as a homage to the submariner style watch! They were a Swiss company that have been around for decades! At my sons request, I built him a homage submariner from a star supply generic rolex submariner case made for a caliber 3135 but modified the movement holder to accept a chronometer eta 2824-2 and had the dials printed with his full name on it for just under $1000. A bespoke! The best value I ever spent for a watch after 49 years of watch trading! Any watch with an eta movement with generic cases modified with quality parts are good! The rest is all marketing!

Thank you for your review! I really was looking forward to this comparison. 3 weeks ago I was in the decision between steinhart & davosa. I couldn´t figure out if the quality of the davosa was better and the higher price-point was justified. But your review (especially the part where your wife decided) was great. You clearly showed the pros and cons. It was exactly the question I asked myself, even if the davosa is slightly more "premium" I wanted to go for that. So I´m glad I chose the davosa :-) the only thing which bothers me is that the bracelet is a little hair-puller. So I considered to change the bracelet someday. But still - the quality is really impressive.

The Davosa 12 oclock lume pip is tiny. The Davosa font is generic on the bottom half. The Davosa doesn't have a female articulating endlink like the Steinhart. The Davosa has a SW200, a great movement, and I have many watches with the SW200 but it is not as good as the SW300 in the Steinhart because the 2892 is one of the best mass produced movements ever made. Also, Davosa is almost twice the price. The Davosa crown is bigger and uglier.

Except for the diver's extension and possibly the taper, the two bracelets look extremely similar. The clasps looks virtually identical. I wouldn't be surprised if they both came from the same factory. I wouldn't have bought either in the first place, but if I had to keep one, it would probably be the Steinhart. It's more versatile with its GMT complication and (probably) has the better movement, assuming the Davosa has a 2824 or SW200 in the back. Plus I find the Davosa's combination of modern case with thick lugs and "old fashioned" dial with small indices a bit odd. That said: I have a 42mm O1 Green Ceramic and I agree that the cyclops on the O1s is pretty pathetic. I don't understand why they don't put one on with a bit more magnification ... I mean, it can't be a cost issue between one with 1.5 and one with 2.5 magnification. I already asked a local watch-maker if he could replace mine but he wasn't enthusiastic about the idea, fearing that he might not be able to fit the new cyclops as perfectly as they manage at the factory. The other thing I would improve are the indices which are applied but rather flat when compared to a Rolex or even some aliexpress homage watches. I'd prefer it if they stood a bit "taller" above the dial.

@@backintimewatches so I will translate for you. I think you are comparing two very different watches although they look similar. One is GMT, while the other is a regular diver. In fact, the price difference between Steinhart and Davosa is enormous !!! The two watches are therefore not intended for quite the same audience. A Steinhart like the Davosa is less than $ 400, or half the price. Steinhart is the entry level of very high quality for a homage watch. Davosa is already the top range. It is therefore normal that the quality on Davosa is better

@@rss_nico Thank you 😊 First, I can only compare what I have. I’m not rich so I have to make videos with what I have at home 😊 Now, Davosa and Steinhart are both homage-brands. Most of their collections are homage-watches. I’ve seen both brands featured in comparison videos together and the fact that the Steinhart is a GMT and Davosa a diver with date is just one small difference between them. They can still be compared on other basis. Like both are stainless steel watches. Both have ceramic bezel inserts. Both are homage watches (even if they homage different watches). Both are black. Both have cyclops with date. Both have steel bracelets. Both have rotating, unidirectional, 120-click bezels. Both use Swiss movements but are not Swiss companies. There are far more similarities than differences 😊 And yes, the price is different but I also say so in the video. I have to disagree with you on the target audience. Both target the same audience (people who don’t want to but the original and are looking for a cheaper homage watch that looks like something far more expensive, in this case both look like Rolexes. Different Rolexes but still Rolexes). My comparison gives people the opportunity to see two homage watches in different price classes and then they can determine if the price difference is warranted or not 😊 I also have a video with six homage watches (and the original Rolex). In that video, the Ginault Ocean Rover is by far the most expensive homage watch there, and I still compare it with the other ones, so that people can see what you get for your money and if it’s worth to spend more or if you’re just wasting your money. I don’t think the quality of the Davosa in this video is that much better than the Steinhart, and I wanted to show people that not always does the price match the quality. Sure, I preferred it but that had nothing to do with the quality. Thank you so much for watching and commenting 😊🙏

Apostolos Galimanas The clasp on the Ginault is better, otherwise the quality of the watch is the same. Maybe better on Davosa since it has a ceramic bezel 👍

Your comparing and judging two completely different bezel styles as though they were the same type. Of course one is busier than the other. How can you hold that against the watch. It would be better if you would compare to things that are the same and not different styles. Very frustrating

Dude, it´s a comparison with the intent of trying to decide which one to keep and which one to sell. That´s why I can compare the two. I´m not trying to figure out which one is the best GMT, since there´s only one. Or which one is the better Submariner-homage, since there´s only one. But I can still talk about which one I like the most and why... Thanks for watching and try not to let videos from losers like me on KZitem frustrate you. It´s not worth it :)

I have both watches (exactly the same models) and the steinhart is Great. The Davosa is Not Worth the money, the bracelet and the clasp feels and looks cheap. Steinhart is the better Watch for less money. IMO.

FAB HE First of all, thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it 🙏 But wow, we really think differently on the bracelet and clasp issue. As I said in the video, I actually think the bracelet is better on the Davosa. Both are solid links, both are screwed with the only difference being that the bracelet on the Davosa is wider and doesn’t taper as much. The clasps are similar but the diver extension on the Davosa takes the point in my book. Bu the best thing is that it’s ok to have a difference of opinions 😊

Apostolos Galimanas i have the davosa prof. 500 Meters in Geramic too, the cyklopse and the bezel is a Bit better, That‘s true, but the Watch is too big, the bracelet is too heavy and the Watch has a selitta movement, Same parts as the steinhart .. not worth the money what it costs more, but this is just my opinion. The bracelet kills the watch - IMO.

For the price they charge, I'd go for a quality Seiko diver every day. Btw, these are no hommage (in French, it means Tribute), it's just a blatant copy with another logo to put it at the hedge of legality. No bad watches there, but let's not glorify these knockoffs in pretending that they are more than they really are. They were not designed to pay a tribute to anything or anyone, just to make easy money without trying to make something if their own ;)
