Wait, Ricky I do not think this new layout on your website is a good idea. It feels like a default squarespace template. Can you please update it to anything else? I cannot see how a new visitor would ever return upon visiting the first time. (Also to note, the small flat bottom banner ad for some reason floats off the bottom and ends up around 40% up in the middle of the page. Can you look into that too?) I really am trying to help.

According to AMEX, mail forwarding services do not work. you need to prove to them that you live in the states...and if you get a actual address, doesn't mean you get accepted.

Has anyone experienced the same issue as me? I applied for a Hilton Amex card on the US website. It asked me to log in if I already had an Amex card,(Canada) so I logged in and filled out the application. Here's where I'm having the issue: When I clicked "Agree & submit," it just took me to the top of the page and did not submit the application. I don't see any error messages. So I decided to go through Nova but it still required ITIN.

What about applying for new US credit cards when you already have some? Which banks approve you without a US number? So far since living in Canada I've been approved for Chase and Barclay's cards, but i told them my Canadian phone number was American (same country code). My understanding is that BofA and Cap 1 will not approve without a real US phone number.

Does adding my ITIN to the application of a new US card build credit exclusively on this card or will it link to other cards obtained with the same bank obtained before receiving an ITIN? Apology if this has already been answered.

Each card will have it's own reporting to the credit bureau. So make sure to take care of each card you have even if they are all in the same bank

How is this not fraud? At points during the application process for GT or Nova you are asked whether you are living in or have moved to the US.
@PrinceofTravel
Ай бұрын
Hello. Thank you for raising this question. You are correct. You need to be residing in the US to use GT or Nova. If you are residing in the US, you may choose to use mail forwarding company address as the mailing address also. Sorry for not being too clear over there.

I used to work in the US briefly so I have a SSN, but it was back in 2003 and since then no activity. Would it be relevant to use in this case, or should I still go ITIN way?
@PrinceofTravel
Ай бұрын
Well, try to get a fee-free keeper card with ur SSN and see if it works first. If it works, then great, start building longer and better credit history with this new card. SSN is much easier to deal with than ITIN. So try SSN first.

Currently, at the time of writing this comment, they needed my passport instead of my certified true copy, i think. I’m still in the process of calling them to know why Also, cibc USA terminated my account just for changing my address to my 24/7 address So, does other banks make it easy to change address?

I’ve tried this so many times even opened up an US bank account at a IS branch but the only cards I can apply for and get are that branches cards. Get all the numbers you want, unless your in business or trade of some kind you need a SSN and even at that it’s a stretch to get one unless you can prove you live in the US for a certain amount of time and can get references from the address you use stating so. It’s year 6 in trying and a SSN is all do not have and I can’t even get a global transfer card from Amex unless I apply to the IRS and hand over my life to them and possibly get accepted.

You may be the unlucky person, I'm sorry to hear this. Many of our colleagues and friends typically got their first Chase Business cards after 2-3 years having a Chase Personal Card. So perhaps start with Chase personal cards first. Applying in branch is also easier for chase cards. My friend just got his first Chase Ink Preferred few days ago. He did have 2 other chase personal cards for 2-3 years time. So try in branch next time. Make sure to bring all the documents.

Opening an ITIN can greatly affect you for the rest of your life so make sure you talk to an accountant with cross border experience before you do this. Personally I do everything I can to AVOID opening an account with the IRS. The US is the only country in the world who taxes global income.
