Love seeing how your husband helps in the kitchen. My mom is always complaining how my dad doesn't know anything about the kitchen but in his defense he grew up dirt poor in Mexico and so of course is lost in an American kitchen. Plus his mother never taught him anything cooking wise, and now he says hes too old to learn (that machismo thinking of women belong in the kitchen doesn't help either)

Subscriber here. I’ve been a big fan of your videos ever since I came across them. I grew up on authentic Mexican food down here in South Florida. Half a century later, it’s still my go to for comfort food. Real tamales are truly a labor of love. Thank you for making such a worthwhile video.

It is so much easier making tamales with your loved ones, It can be really fun and time does fly by. I use my kitchenAid Mixer to help me with the masa because of my arthritis. And last, we have an assembly line, everyone has a job. I love seeing you and your husband cook together. Thank you for sharing.

I made over 100 tamales this last week. Part chicken and half pork. I learned it so well it went pretty fast for the last half. My tamale sauce from the pepper pods was so delicious I wanted to drink it. 😅 I made about a gallon and half of the red tamale sauce. My last batch had guajillo, ancho,Arbol, and Malato peppers . Might be spelled wrong. I like using a mix of peppers. On one batch I used New Mexico pepper pods with ancho Arbol. All was very good. I love making tamales, for my family.

Thank you for this. I just made tamales (finished them up) today and I did cook a few in the Ninja Foodie.. and they seemed to cook just fine in 10 min. I couldn’t believe it.

I've followed this recipe a couple of times before, and they turned out fantastic. Tomorrow, I'm having a Tamale making party for my wedding next month. Unfortunately, given the quantity we have to make, we'll have to steam them all before freezing instead of the preferable freeze before steaming like I've done in the past. Still, I'm confident it's going to turn out fantastic on the day:)

You’re a pro. I’m a pro wanna be. 😊how do you tell if your masa is ready to assemble the tamales? Why didn’t you use the steam button on the insta pot to cook these in the insta pot. Did you use the pressure or the steam part.

Making green pork tamales this year for thanksgiving. Unfortunately last year I made red beef tamales and the family said it has to be a tradition now. I hate making them, takes forever to spread the masa and wrap them.
