Likely the $ and length of contract is agreed upon, it's just coming down to things like guaranteed money, incentives, the way the contract is structured, etc. Yes, the Packers know he's their guy and want to sign him for big $, but if his agent is trying to have a record amount of money guaranteed, you can see why they'd need to negotiate on that. So I'd imagine it's just down to the specifics, and the Packers gotta do their best to ensure that if he suffers a major injury over the next few years that they aren't bankrupted as a team for half a decade.

We are now, basically, at the point where no team is going to keep a drafted QB on a second contract for less than $50 million. I would have to side with Mad Dog on this take. Jordan Love hasn't done much to deserve 50+ million a year yet alone to be paid like most top 10 QBs. Stephen A. take take based on Jordan's age, talent and a projections of what Jordan Love can become in the future given what he has already accomplished with a playoff win. So paying a guy on potential , as oppose to true value in respect to what he has done is outrages. Imagine a job where you under performed should you get a salary cut? But then when you exceed expectation in that job should you get a pay raise🤔

He has played one year, he is still wet behind the ears, what the heck is going on with professional sport, you used to have to prove yourself first then scale it up to market value, he is good and yes going to be great tho throwing that $50 mill collar around his neck is a very slippery slope, players get these big contracts then there seems to be a let down from them (this is professionals across the board of all sporting teams)

How can anyone question a franchise thats produced 30 YEARS of qb success? Different coaching staff, same formula. Not to mention Hasselbeck who turned one of the worst teams into a contender. Ask Seattle fans about that. At the end of the day, who cares what he's paid? It will not matter once the season gets on their way. The entire offense is under contract keeping them under the cap, and its only 4 years. All this is is off season BS that the Packers have already dealt with. Tell me, who had the last laugh the last time people criticized their judgment?
