I love Joel but he has no one to blame but himself and Harden for yesterday. The fact that he’s just blaming everything is highly hypocritical and ironic considering he’s always underperformed in important game situations
@avataraarow

Honestly, he actually was a little more justified in that comment than I thought. The Celtics’ defensive adjustment of adding Rob to the starting lineup basically allowed Rob to roam into the paint while Al stuck to Embiid like glue, leaving people like oh tucker wide open but suffocating the paint for Embiid. He still should’ve come up bigger, and Harden was WAY too passive, but their defensive adjustment was huge and really made it about as hard for Embiid as possible

Embiid was up and down in this series but the biggest issue is his body language and motor in the playoffs. I saw the same thing from him that i saw from Ayton. Pouting, Jogging up and down the court and playing half assed with the slightest bit of adversity. It was clearly contagious and affected the entire team. He has the ability of a championship level player but not the mentality, especially when it matters most. Sadly he's too valuable to even consider trading so they're just gonna have to try and build around him better and build the culture around him in the locker room and hope they rub off on him.

Harden is leaving Philadelphia for Houston. 1. Next season's Houston Rockets salary is only $57 million. Because you have to spend 90% of the salary cap, you have to spend about $ 70 million more (even Kevin Porter is only guaranteed $ 15 million out of a $ 63 million contract) 2. Because of the NBA's 38-year-old rule, Harden cannot renew his five-year contract with Philadelphia. 3. Pennsylvania has an income tax of 4%. Texas and Florida have an income tax of 0% . 4. The maximum that Harden can get is 4 years and $210 million if he signs with the 76ers, and 4 years and $200 million if he goes to another team. Philly need to sign Tyrese Maxey and can't afford Harden a lot of money

As someone who highly respects James Harden's skill set, I cannot argue with Stephen A's criticism. Watching Harden in game 7, in the back of my mind I was wondering if he was throwing the game intentionally. 😳 Having a bad have or two is one thing, but this was epically bad!!!! Perhaps he was impacted by some health issue....I hope. Gotta add, Embid looked a mess in games 6 and 7 too. No fire, fight, leadership at all. I was all for him winning MVP. Even thought it might inspire him in the playoffs...perhaps to matchup against Jokic and silence the naysayers. 🤷🏾♂️ Some will blame Doc Rivers for the Sixers problems, but I think it really is a player(s) issue. Note what they said after G6, Embid: I didn't get the ball in the last 4 min. Doc: We didn't trust each other enough. Harden: No, we trusted each other. Well, it's obvious that the whole team has spilt ideas about the loss of G5. How will they not hesitate in the court? More importantly, the way Embid plays has made him MVP, no doubt about it, but at expense of Harris and even Harden. Most of the time in a game, Embid doesn't play as the 1 but more of the 4 or 3, which totally gets Harris out of the game. One of the reasons why people are amazed by Embid's performance is that he almost can do 1-5's job. But he doesn't seem to be interested in palying center. He likes to have the ball at the high post, dribble, and then gets the ball stolen or he takes a mid-range jump shot. It's OK when he is rolling. But once he misses his jump shot, there will be no offensive rebounds, there are no guys as big as him in their team. And even on top of this, Embiid is niether very skilled at nor does he want to do pick and roll. So you will see him get the ball at the high post, and then dribble untill he couldn't and make a difficult jump shot while other teammates are surrounding at the three point line watching him miss. I have so many screen shots that can prove this, I really, really don't understand why nobody has analyzed the game at this angle. I mean, sometimes Embid seemed to be the point guard, isn't it weird for you guys or for any sane basketball fans? On the other hand, Harden now mostly controls the pace on the court and passes the ball to the right person. Regardless of how others think of him, he is not a selfish player, so when Embiid calls for the ball in the high post, he will definitely try to give it to him. However, from the perspective of a great point guard, sometimes passing to Embiid is a mistake. So Harden sometimes hesitates, which is also why Embiid doesn't get the ball. If you watched Embiid's positioning in the last four minutes of Game 6, you can see that he was not standing in his dominant low position. Embid is not Jokić, neither a point guard (while I am not sure if he knows that as he just made a statement that he would improve his dribbling ability during the summer after G7). How can it be reasonable to pass him the ball when he is not at the right place at the last minute?

Now you’re just revising history due to recency bias. Ben was undoubtedly the worst player in the floor that series. Embiid actually was great in game 7 of the hawks series if you actually watched. Dude was just refusing to shoot and passed up dunk/layup with trae young guarding him. However to his credit he was was solid defensively. Embiid on the other hand was averaging 30 but he was getting some stupid turnovers which he owned up to but the media likes to ignore that.

In the Raptors series, he was better than Ben on there too. However similar to how this series ended, Embiid slacked off on defense and Kawhi was just red hot. The blame is on James Harden and Doc Rivers because of River's Coaching in Game 6. You needed to give Embiid the ball in the 4th Quarter and he said so in a press conference after the game, and James Harden needed to have a Game 1 performance 4 times to win. He only had 2 games worth, the 3rd win the 76ers got was because the Celtics laid an egg in Game 5. Joel Embiid gave you almost 30 points a game during the series along with the fact that Maxey didn't show up in Game 7 yesterday.

I think the sixers had all the pieces to win. I mean they went all the way to game 7. If anything, they should change the coach and see what happens.

I blame harden, dude always disappears in big games. In Houston, Brooklyn. Now, Philly. They need another point guard

Yall blamed Simmons first, I'm just saying. Looks like there was some level of embellishments happening at this point.

No Ben was trash too, dude was unplayable in the Hawks series and Embiid was averaging 30, but this loss does fall squarely on Embiid. Both of these things can be true.

@@julianh.5372 who said I wasn’t willing? I can admit Embiid didn’t play well but that Atlanta series was more on Ben than Embiid (however the turnovers certainly didn’t help either. He objectively had a better series than Ben there. Now if you wanna talk about throw teammates under the bus, I can admit that I don’t agree with what he did yesterday or back then. People also seem to forget that he blamed himself as well for the loss due to his turnovers

76ers needs to recruit Allen Iverson as Joel Embiid’s second guy on the court. It’s the only way for the Sixers to get to the finals.

Doc Rivers can now coach Ben Simmonds in Brooklyn and they can both blame EMBID for the 76rs failures 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Where all those people now who kept saying Embiid deserves the MVP this season? Gets hurt (as usual) and misses game 1, doesn't show up in game 7, and throws his teammates under the bus. Yep that's MVP behavior in my book 🤪 Doc Rivers been living off that 1 ring for 15 yrs now. Kendrick Perkins will always simp for Doc and it's why Perk is terrible at this analyst job. He's incapable of being objective.

What is the big deal? this isn't surprising, the 76ers were never actually a championship contender with their current squad.

Harden wants to get back to Houston where there’s no expectations to win much. Him taking less money was his out not a sign of his commitment to winning in Philly. Harden quiet quit 3 years ago 🤷🏾♂️

They only got to game 7 because too often Boston plays down to their competition. This series shouldn't have gone any longer than 5 games. Boston is the far superior team.
