In my opinion, Peter Cook was brillaint, but needed brilliance to bounce off. And Stephen is very well-respected, adored, and has the national-treasure hat, but, I really believe that John Sessions was quicker, just as witty, and more versatile than Cook, and he's just as intelligent, insightful, and erudite as Fry. Essentially, what I'm saying is, I believe John Sessions hasn't been given the respect he deserves by the mass media. Fry has said the man is a genius. That's good enough for me.

***** Will do. But as long as you look back at your post and TRY not to be so CAPTIOUS. I wasn't trying to deride Peter Cook. The man was masterful. Just thought John Sessions deserved a little more recognition than actually got.

If I may butt in: I don't believe it was a spelling mistake, as the word was spelled correctly further on - along with all other words. So more like a typo then. Now switching pedantic mode OFF...

dwaynepipe59 Well, must say I'm thankful your pedantic mode was swicthed on. Appreciate it. Clearly our captious and carping friend is a hardened, unyielding and unobjective Cook fan.

Watched a Dan Patterson interview recently and apparently Peter Cook was fairly pissed during filming and so lost his edge compared with practising beforehand when he was superb.

Peter Cook, even when drunk and sick, could wipe the floor with Clive Anderson. It's like MC Hammer telling Mozart how to write music. Peter, we miss ya, come on back from that not so great beyond.
