Been slowly working through 11.22.63 for a few weeks now, and wow, what a ride. Thanks for King content, would never have picked him up without this channel. Storm of the Century has been added to the watchlist!

what I found kind of fun is Tim Daly and Steven Webber were stars in a TV show together called "Wings" from 1990 to 1997 and then both of them would end up in a Stephen King Miniseries just a bit time later... I remember watching this with my mom and man she hated how the bad guy wins. I love how they aren't really given a choice. unless you are willing to stand by your morals, unless you all go down like the lost colony of Roanoke. At least with Roanoke it's over and you don't have to try and live with ALL that guilt.

Yeah, Linoge was brutal with his options for sure!

The stones which feature in both The Stand and Storm of the Century always fascinated me.

I remember watching this when it originally aired and loving it. Just recently when I realized HULU had it I rewatched it thinking it wouldn’t hold up to my memories but it seriously is still so good. Can’t say the same for Rose Red, so I think it’s a testament to how good the story and acting is in it.

I agree - Storm of the Century is so good even after all these years!

This has been one of my favorites for many years. Andre is just magnetic! I also went to rehab with Skye, who plays the Pippa character. She played in a bunch of well known movies. She died in her early twenties.

That’s very sad about Skye. Glad you made it through, I cannot imagine how tough rehab must be

One other King connection: Julianne Nicholson also stars in The Outsider series.

Always felt SOTC was similar to Needful Things. Stranger comes to small community and causes mayhem.

Definitely - only SOTC is far darker! Needful Things is deliberately more of a black comedy…a definite thread of mayhem though!

Has King made any statements on whether Storm of the Century or Linoge have any Dark Tower connections?

As far as I’m aware, no…but he does have major Randall Flagg vibes

This story is absolutely fantastic. Never understood why itvhasnt been converted to a novel. That ending!! It rivals Darabonts much talked about Must ending! And please stop calling it SOTC......that means so much more!!!.......ill leave that one to Dave explain!!

Having not had the pleasure of reading it I was curious if there are any cool little nuggets that are in the screenplay that weren’t in the mini series.
@DaveReadsKing

As far as I remember, not really - the screenplay is basically the script that was used. But, I enjoyed reading the stage directions King included in the screenplay, they were almost like a bonus bit of narrative
