When the question was read, I did successfully recognize "Richard Feynman" as the physicist. However, I falsely thought it still worked because: I heard that a villain in a Stephen King series is supposed to be H.P. Lovecraft's Nyarlathotep. I'm pretty sure mekboys are still powering things by Wahhhh and warp power. Sure, they wield spanners but lets me honest, Gorkanauts aren't in any way conventionally controlled. And Mekboys also fire the most WAAHHH weapon in the greenskin arsenal, the Shokk attack gun. You'll never convince me that the shokk attack gun uses actual technology. That thing is straight up orcy nonsense diving deep into the warp.
@deadphoenix8085
3 жыл бұрын
This is true! The orks manifesting tech through a psychic phenomenon (the Gestalt field) was an Ad Mech myth! All Ork tech reloes on the Waagh field. There is no actualy technology that would allow their stuff to work internally. Most Ork guns have no internal mechanisms to fire bullets, yet they somehow work. Even the mekboy stuff only makes sense so far in, thet slapped stuff together thatd roughly make the result they do, but theres still no actualy reason for the tech to work
@kingintyellow
3 жыл бұрын
Um actually, Ashley is right. The whole 'orks make it work' thing has become a bit of a meme, but they do know how to make *some* stuff. The engineering know-how encoding into them lets them build some quite sophisticated technology. But, at the same time, they don't know how a lot of this works. Between that and the Waagh field they are able to make *some* things work which shouldn't. But if everything they did worked because they believed in it, they would never run out of ammo, every pistol would fire mini nukes, and ork energy fields would never fail. The Waagh basically lets them bodge some thing together. They can't just write 'Rokkit Ship' on a cardboard box and fly it into space. They have to hammer metal into a vaguely rocket shaped lump, fill it full of engines and fuel, and TRY to make it work like a regular rocket. If they happen to have missed a step then there is a good chance it'll explode still, but there is also a chance the Waagh will let it work as intended, assuming enough orks believe it will.

Also, I think you meant "College". A collage is art (like a poster, as an example) made of a bunch of smaller bits of art (like photographs or drawings, or, like bits of fabric or paper). College is where you go to get a degree. A good way to remember which is which is: "A" for "art", "e" for "education".

Um actually, I've only seen the tv show and haven't read the books, but doesn't Outlander have more than one time shift? In the TV show, at least, Claire goes back to her own time for about 20 years and then goes back to the 18th century after her husband dies.

Um, actually, the weak point is supposed to be the spot you aim for to kill a boss. You don't aim for the revival pod vs Lavos. You would literally never kill him if you did. You aim for the other two, and only after killing both can you damage the right one. By all video game logic I've ever known from King Hippo on, that makes everything EXCEPT the right pod Lavos's weak point.
@mustlovebooknerd
2 жыл бұрын
Incorrect. The Right pod is the true core of Lavos (the center creature is a decoy) and the right pod will continue to resurrect the center and left pod until you defeat it. And once you kill the right, the other two are automatically destroyed.

A Mind Flayer is an aberration but they do appear to be humanoid as they have two arms and two legs (with strange digits) but their heads basically resembles an octopus, beak and all. Orks really are brilliant engineers, their inventor class (Mek Boyz) instinctively know how to build and use impressive technology (Orky know wots) such as force fields and teleportation on a level far beyond most other races in the setting. The gestalt psychic field may have some of an effect, but the general principles do really work. Most of the descriptions of their tech only working is from the human engineer cults, who are more like cargo cults than the Orks, it’s a joke about how the humans have lost their ability to invent things and so accuse the Orks of things they’re more guilty of!
@TheImpossiBelle

Um, Actually humans haven't lost the ability to invent things: its just that doing so is considered Heresy within the Imperium of Man and Cult Mechanicus since unrestricted technological advances is what led to one of Humanity's earlier declines due to a war with the Men of Iron (powerful AI robots created during the golden age of humanity). The forces of Chaos, humans and astartes alike, invent shit all the time, each just as horrific and terrifying as the last. Looking at you, Iron Warriors.

Um Actually, you never travel to 1,200 BC in Chrono Trigger. You do travel to 12,000 BC. Also, The End of Time isn't at the "end" of the timeline, it is a convergence of all points in time. Pretty sure Balthazar explains this the first time you visit The End of Time. Also I have no idea what the "whatever you want" line is supposed to be. If that's the Epoch, it's not really a point in time - it's a vehicle.

I take credence with this correction of a correction.. because I'm actually ash had won an official Pokemon league.. he actually did win two. By the time this aired and possibly was recorded, ash had won the Alola league and as pedantic as this sounds although the orange islands were not a region they did officially have a pokemon league.. however the original question did have a wrong answer.. ash had actually caught several legendary Pokemon in his time, including melmetal, who is a mythic cal pokemon making it a subset of legendary, a naganadel who is an ultra beast, and nevby who evolved it into solgaleo a box art legendary.. making ng both you and the corrector mentioned above both wrong..

It's not how their tech works but it's entirely possible that it'll be retconned due to the sheer number of people that think it works like that. Umm actually, one can argue that the Stranger Things "Mind Flayer" is modeled after the "Elder Brain", the final stage in the mind flayer life cycle: forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Elder_brain Although we're probably giving much more thought to this than the Duffer brothers did.

@@fotisbaltoumas One could argue that but they’d be wrong. For two reasons beyond the only vaguely passing similarity of the tendrils. 1) That is not the reasoning that they gave in the show for calling it a mindflayer. 2) The elder brain did not enter the D&D mythos until after the timeframe of the show and edition of D&D that they used when naming the creature a mindflayer.

The 12 are retracing the journey of the 13th tribe from Caprica to Earth. It wasn't until they arrived on Earth and learned that the 13th tribe were actually the cylons, the mortal enemy of the 12. Also towards the end of the series the 12 stopped referring to to themselves by their ancient tribe names, but by the ships they have been travelling on.
