This is pure genius! Pig Lib Blew my mind when it came out and it remains the best SM album in my opinion. Love the fact that there are bands like this putting out real music. This is an epic, fearless jam! NINE MINUTES TWELVE !!!!! Who does that long of a song anymore? Put the headphones on and trip out! SM has entered the realm of the rock GODS, Who knew he would be such a great guitar player?

Somebody put a video behind this great fucking song already! It`s about the Dutch sound engineer who fell a sleep in the studio during The Jicks recordings. So, SM tells the story in the first couple of minutes, and the rest is just his musical interpretation of the Dutch sound engineer's dream. Lovely!

I think it's more like the band went on and did their thing after he spaced out and that the music they played infiltrates and influences the sound man's dreams, as opposed to the musicians interpreting the dream...

SM is definitely a guitar god, big time. Credit must also be given to the rest of the Jicks who tripped out right along with him. Special shout out to the amazing drummer Janet Weiss, who played in the Jicks for years and brought her exquisite and subtle drumming prowess to their sound.

But she did'nt drum on this album...But she sounds great also. Little bit like Mitch Mitchell. She brings the Jimi Hendrix vibe.

"I was into some meandering British folk things - Mellow Candle, Fairport Convention - so I wanted to write my version of that. The lyrics are kind of stupid. They’re about a soundman listening to this band playing, and he’s getting blown away. Maybe he’s stoned. He trips out, and the song goes off into a dream world. The band is us, of course - who else could it be? Our sound man, Remko Schouten, from Holland... He’s not the first person to ever have a spliff while he's working, but that’s that." - Malkmus on 1% of One
