lead vocalist is Laetitia Sadier, backup is the late Mary Hansen who died in 2002, just five years after the release of this album. Laetitia is French, Mary is Australian, and the band was formed in London. check out their whole discography, they’re my favorite band of all time for good reason!

Hello from France! Good album and great reaction too! If you interested in others french speaking albums, you should try "Histoire de Melody Nelson" (1971) and "L'homme à tête de chou" (1976) by Serge Gainsbourg, "Fantaisie Militaire" (1998) by Alain Bashung and "Sauver l'amour" (1985) by Daniel Balavoine. Four great classics! By the way, Melody Nelson album was a big influence for Portishead!

@@smags1082 Tender Buttons is a great recommendation. For other Stereolab, really any of the albums from Mars Audiac Quintet to Sound-Dust would be a good follow-up.

Refractions is more of a suite a la Chicago's "Ballet For A Girl In Buchannon," which was broken up for radio play as their single hits "Make Me Smile" and "Colour My World. The organ they used was the retro Farfisa.

Would you listen to non english artists? Try Jorge Ben "Força Bruta", a brazilian album. You'll probably gain a lot of views on that, and it's a whole vibe. I haven't heard Stereolab before. Geogaddi is my favorite album, and BoC my favorite artists..

Both, "Geogadi" and "Dots and loops" are very special albums, i was a teenager when Dots. came out and its still ahead of its time, Geogadi also have that magic, love both with all my heart. these two albums are timeless Gems, glad you mentioned Geogadi.
