Personally as a Samoan, I like it how people don't know anything about us and that we fly under the radar. Being from an independent nation which belongs to our people and isolated from much of the world and not getting all caught up in their affairs, couldn't ask for anything more. So yeah, I'd like to keep it mysterious on the low-low.

I'd be surprise if anyone outside of the pacific knew pacific islanders exist. So much people barely know us. Even if they knew, they would think we were either Hawaiian or Samoan. Hell, we'd be lucky if they guessed easter island. Nevertheless i like it like this since i could surprise and mystify people with were i come from (i'm maori/cook island) and personally show them my culture. As a culture we are incredibly diverse and full of richness. We have had our moments in history since we were the greatest navigators in the world (conquered the pacific ocean without any form of technology), the Rapanui people building the moai statues on easter island and connecting asia with the americas in pre colonial times.

Correction: D.Kinikini, YES....Polynesians are Intelligent enough to become Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, CEO's, Judges, Brain Surgeons, Astronauts, Scientist and so forth...parents need to raise and impress in their children's minds to reach their full potential in life. Parents need to support their children in different areas in life; not just football.

I believe that islanders will be more known than being large, playing football, being friendly, loving, and other types of stereotypes, but we can make a difference by making bigger goals and believe we can achieve them to the best of our abilities.
