I had no idea Sanipac was still running these Condor 7000s until I saw one in a parking lot in Eugene on a break the day before I filmed this. Then, on Friday afternoon, I saw this thing roaring into my grandmother's neighborhood, where I remember seeing it back in 2013 during my previous visit in Eugene. So basically, this truck has collected greenwaste on the same route for at least 3 years.
And I won't even get started on how "open market" this area is. My educated guess is at least 85% of the residents have chosen LaneApex service (Thursdays), and the remaining have chosen Sanipac as their hauler, who comes on Fridays. In my clips here, and even in person, this truck couldn't have looked more out of place on some streets, like it was driving in the wrong neighborhood on the wrong collection day. Most of the time, poor guy was just driving around in circles trying to find cans. Furthermore, the lack of cars parked by the side of the street really took this footage the whole nine yards. And with no bike, car, and just my legs and phone, I had a hell of a time filming this truck. To be honest, I am quite impressed with the footage that actually turned up.
To my knowledge, this may be 1 of 2 or even the last Condor 7000 Sanipac runs. The older 7000s are solely used on yardwaste or recyclables, as they can handle heavy material much better than newer trucks. In my opinion, the sound of this truck is bound to brighten up anyone's day ;)
