Can we take a moment to appreciate how great of an interviewer DP is? Makes it look easy, sign of true talent.

Love how his former players love him. If you made it through with him, his loyalty after was so beautiful! The mention of them all about Coach Knight is heartwarming.

Oh, Steve! What great story telling! Thanks for sharing. I miss those great New Castle, Indiana and IU basketball days. It was fun being a fan when basketball was a joy to watch. You've always been my favorite player.

Attended that Final Four and Keith Smart’s winning shot is still quite vivid in my memory bank. Syracuse was massively talented that year and the better team on paper, IMO. 4 Hall of Fame coaches in New Orleans that year. Knight, Boeheim, Pitino & Tarkanian. The 80’s was by far the best period for college hoops!

50/50 that Coach Knight not only knew about the bus ride home for Steve but probably told the driver to pick him up after he had walked for a bit.

When a former player refers to a mentor as coach in the same reverence as dad, it shows the importance of that person in their life.

One of my fave Bob Knight stories! Last player to be cut from 1984 Olympic team was Charles Barkley, He said! If I had one wish? be alone in the same room with coach knight for 30 seconds

@@rickehrhardt9093I went through basic training in ‘91 when they would still curse at you and knock you around. The DI’s were bullies. Those bullies taught me life lessons like honor, integrity and discipline. Mentally and physically I was a much stronger young man after a couple of months and those lessons have stayed with me the rest of my life. I am not a bully but I benefited from them. Look at the garbage in schools and universities today and the weak and mentally ill they are producing. Kids identify as animals. Give me a break. This country needs to be bullied because what is now passing as normal cannot be sustained by the rest of us.
