I think if you're happy with the machine you're currently using, then that's the right one for you. Having been on the Dyson bandwagon, I couldn't fathom another machine to be better at cleaning carpets that a Dyson...until I got my Miele. I have a Miele Capricorn and I just adore it. I've never had any issues with it and can't complain. Admittedly, the best vacuum that I have for carpets now is a Royal Everlast 8200...nothing can touch it on carpets!

Even if the Dyson machines obviously aren't that great, their marketing strategy is flawless. There's three kinds of Dyson defenders: those who paid 400$ and realize they've wasted money but will never admit it, and those who can't understand how an expensive machine could be anything but superior. Finally, the ones that have never used another brand.

Own both Dyson and Miele. Miele's customer service is superb. Dyson left me high and dry. Friend recently just had a five year old Miele repaired for free under their warranty which comes from the vacuum (Dyson has no such warranty). I still own a dyson and love it (use it for hard to reach places and the stairs), but the Miele bashing in the comments doesn't really make any sense. Did you buy online or from a non-certified retailer?

Dyson is the best BAGLESS vacuum. What makes it the best is its ability to separate dirt from the air which captures the dirt and dust into the dirt cup rather than the filter (which is what clogs up and reduces suction from bagless machines.

Miele is clearly a winner. I noticed the same thing when I went from a Dyson to a Sebo. Sebo cleaned a fluffed up the pile so much better than Dyson!!

Normal dust won't "cake" in the cyclons and even if they did, you can wash the entire assembly and your Dyson will be brand new again - no need for bags, just water!

Here here , have had my animal ball for 12 years, I do not have to go over that many times, I love it, I too empty it outside. who in their right mind would inside. Makes you wonder how much he is being paid for the Miele advert.I did once have a Miele , before Dyson, well , there was a dangerous fault , it threw me. I had a serious electric shock, Miele, did not care and it was not a year old. Never again Miele, Dyson will come to your house, they truly stand by their name ! love Dyson !

That happened to my 6 years old Dyson when I used it to vacuum paint dust from a sander. The dust was a little sticky and clogged inside the Cyclons. I just had to wash the entire unit, wash the filters and my Dyson was brand new again.
@Nycholas1998

The bags that the Miele uses is not your standard bag. IT has 9 layers of filtration. With metal mesh wires to strengthen the bag. Every time you change the bag you get a new vacuum. The first time you use your Dyson, the fine dust cakes to the cyclones and it will never be like new again. Unless you replace the dust canister and cyclone assembly.

you can't drive to a locally owned vacuum store and purchase a vacuum for the same price as a big box store while supporting your community/a small business owner? you know you can buy dysons at big box stores right? and you can buy all of these brands on Amazon, Wayfair, etc.

I love my Dyson or Dyson's used a few and own one. I see there are a lot of wars on KZitem lol. They are both good hoovers I've grown to Dyson's so I prefer them, never used a Miele. It would nice if you could recreate this test to show how effective the new Dyson dc50 animal is.

Also, the newer dysons that are going to be coming out have no rug strips to get in the way of cleaning, like this older dyson or your top of the line Miele. The DC50 is already doing that. Also, Miele has NO equivalent to dysons stick vacuums, like the DC59. Which I use in between deep cleanings and does amazing!

This isn't Miele's top of the line model. That would be the C3 Brilliant model, which would curb-stomp both of those vacuums in the video in both particle counter tests and cleaning power.

I really can't get over the Dyson fanboys on here who buy into bagless vacuums being more "convenient." James Dyson invented a solution to a problem that never existed. Growing up in the 90s, I never heard anyone ever say "man I wish my vacuum cleaner didn't have a bag." For how many times you'd have to empty and clean out the dust bin of that Dyson, you could just put the Miele away and move on to doing something else. People today are so stupid and lazy. They even complain that they have to change the belt in a vacuum. You're kidding me right? I have 4 vacuums: a Eureka, a Hoover, a Royal, and a Kirby. All of them are 20+ years old and will outperform that Dyson all day long. Not to mention I paid far less money for all of them, they require minimal maintenance and bags and belts for them are dirt cheap. Gotta love the old tried and true direct air vacuums. I couldn't care less if they don't look "modern," at least I know my carpets are clean. There's a reason hotels, schools, offices, etc use vacuums like Sanitaires. Just ask yourself if a Dyson could stand up to cleaning 25 rooms per day, 7 days a week.
@jimbob1277

What happens when a bag less machine gets too full? Oh that's right - it loses suction and the filters will become blocked. So sure, bagged machines lost suction - that's why you change the bag occasionally, children will starve if you don't feed them - same principle. Was the issue of a Vacuum eventually losing suction because we couldn't be bothered to change the bag a problem? I'd guess if you're too stupid or lazy not to change the bag then you'd care less about suction anyway.
@mhtube01
8 жыл бұрын
+James Riley Well at least you pointed out the real reason vacuums lose suction, because people wait until the bags are completely full before they change them and you're not supposed to do that. Every bag has a full line on it that indicates when to change it. If you change it then, any loss of suction would be very minimal and hardly noticeable. Bagless vacuums lose suction because their filters clog and Dyson is about the only company who has addressed this to an extent. At the end of the day though, that doesn't mean a bagless vacuum is better performance wise because it's a known fact that they are not because of the motors they use. My main point is that for how many times you would empty that dirt cup, you could just put a bagged vacuum away and not have to worry about anything. When it's time to change the bag, all of the dirt is trapped inside. No mess, no drama, less maintenance. And I'm still the idiot, I love it.

zmanifest go away already. you obviously own a competing vacuum store that sells dysons or work for dyson directly. no casual homeowner would waste years trolling a youtube channel making negative comment after negative comment while trying to sell people on dysons. i'm researching vacuums prior to purchase and would like to read real comments from real users. i'm so tired of seeing your posts. your bullying and childish tactics have actually had the opposite impact. i'm completely turned off by dysons. you're bad for their image. if cyber bullying is the only trick you have up your sleeve to hawk your wares, i'd say you need a new career.

I am not a business owner!! I’m a collector and a restorer! And I am not a troll or a shill, I’m a critic! Yes I admit that there are better vacuums than Dyson. The Riccar Tandem Air will definitely outperform a Dyson, but not the Miele and Sebo. The build quality of the Miele and Sebo are good, but their performances are mediocre, they are not specialty high end performers like the vacuum store owners say they are! I don’t mind that there are better vacuums out there than Dyson, but putting up videos like this online that spout nonsense about them like “you wanna work all day with your DC41 Animal?” is a violation to my sense of integrity! I have a Dyson DC41 Animal and it Doesn’t TAKE ALL DAY TO GET THE JOB DONE!!! Steve here has spouted a lot of biased disingenuous bullshit in his videos! That is the real thing that bothers me, not that the Dyson isn’t performing well!! I don’t sell vacuums, I collect them! And I restore them for a hobby, not a living! Now, My uncle is a lawyer! If you post anymore defamatory comments about me, I will sue your ass! Now CEASE AND DESIST!!!!

Ps try there new dc50 on this task it has a new brush roll and it works very well on piles of pet hair even though it's unrealistic to find big clumps of pet hair it's usually spread out and deep in the carpet and the dyson works best to get that out
