This is great--this video inspired me as a child, and now I'm a professional composer. The guy in this video makes tutorials now, and I was in the middle of watching one and Googled his name and really, really surprised to find he's the guy who inspired me in the first place!

that is awesome! Do you know if he has a youtube? Yes, me too I was always facinated every time a show like this would go behind the seens and show you the synths and equipment and I also make music now! I was always the kid in class who, whenever there was a movie playing in the classroom I would care more about how the VCR worked instead of paying atension to the movie lol

It's cool to see how many other people were inspired by this. I still remember seeing this when I was about 10 and having my mind blown. It was one of those clouds opening in the sky moments and I knew it's what I wanted to do with my life. Now over 30 years later here I am doing just that 😜

is that a fairlight CMI?!? Damn my generation is so spoiled I am sitting in front of what he has same setup only its the modern version, I7 pc running fl studio, krk speakers, a piano controller, and the "typewriter style keyboard" lmao Ironically the typewriter keyboard is a gaming rainbow one. This video can still be relevant for teaching today. This guy 1ups me with his CMI at least it has a touch screen monitor!

It's a Fairlight CMI. They were really popular back in the day, but expensive. It's most famous for popularizing the "orchestra hit" sample. It used 8" floppy disks to hold the samples. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairlight_CMI
