Seen him a few times with Yes, but standout experience was a few years in this tiny venue in Selby < 100 people, just him and his guitars, so close I could have reached out and touched him. Very intimate and very cool experience. I think he he said he couldn't play at all but was dropped on his head as a kid and then it all came together

Great to hear Steve's thoughtful approach to production. I'd love to know how much Steve was influenced by Eddie Offord (Close to the Edge, Tales, Relayer). Eddie's approach was very unconventional but paid off big: essentially they wrote/arranged/spliced the songs together AFTER the individual sections had been recorded in separate jam sessions. Today that approach would get you laughed out of the studio for wasting time ($$), but it really worked on those 3 albums.

When I first heard Cut From the Stars I loved it but complained that the synth patches were too out-of-the-box typical presets. My mistake! I didn't know there was an orchestra involved. Man, it must be hard to be an aging musician and have all your aging fans think they know what's going on and what's best. Either way, this sounds like Yes' triumphant return to pure progressive rock, looking to both the past and the future.

No. But, if they would come back to the campus of Southern Illinois University (SIU-E) across the river near Edwardsville, I’d pop for a lawn seat there, for sure! Last time they did that gig it attracted 25,000 concert go’ers! An all outdoor performance at the peak of the summer save the tent under which they played. Bring your binoculars! Oh! And, don’t mind those funny smelling “fireflies” being passed around. Back then, the natural limit was only around 2% - 4%. Just enough to put a smile on your face while enjoying TRIPLE sets of #Edge, #Tales, #Fragile, and #Relayer. How they kept up with that pace on that tour is still a mystery … “Jon Anderson is the only person I know that is from a different planet, yet was born and raised and still resides on THIS planet!” ~ Rick Wakeman
