The many styles/shades of drumming are not mutually exclusive. A fine drummer is like a fine piano player or singer. I've slowed my rolls w/time; out of age (66 yo) or injury (carpal tunnel, back problems). Jazz; R & B; Rock, is all good. Buddy Rich, Billy Cobham, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Gadd, John Bonham, Bernard Purdie, Steve Smith, Sonny Emory, Michael Derosier, Stewart Copeland. Eric Moore!!

His playing is not virtuosic technically speaking but his feel is the thing. Ya need to have "good musical ears" for the music to be a consistently outstanding and complimentary drummer. Keith was quoted saying "No Charlie, No Stones" He and Mick should honor that. There's a reason Led Zeppelin retired when John Bonham passed, he was not replaceable. Jordan is a fine drummer, so are many other professionals, but the Rolling Stones need to do right by Charlie and retire now. He was not replaceable. RIP Charlie Watts. 🙏
