A master. Your astoundingly strong tone and use of double stops and ornaments on this tune minds me of my instructor (for a summer) Brendan Mulvilhill of Baltimore, Maryland USA. I wonder if there is a connection there with the region/people you played with and learned from. I seem to recall him speaking of Sligo and I think his fiddling father may have come from there. I know that you play many styles well so this is probably only one of the tools in your very full and lovely toolbox! Also I love the story and I seem to remember reading this story as a child in a story book, but it may not be a real memory ... but I think of it often nevertheless.

It’s funny because I learned a tune named the gold ring one week ago and it isn’t the same air at all, but I think there must be a jig and a reel
