@@phawgg2 Even the great Jimi Hendrix wanted to recruit Steve into a new band situation...and Steve appears, famously, on that Hendrix masterpiece of an album, Electric Ladyland...The nicest thing about Winwood...he never seems to chase the spotlight, does not seem to be overly impressed with himself. With him, the music comes first!

I saw him live in 2008. He opened up for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and me and my parents were like what a crazy and amazing performer you are. He played higher love and he had the all the audience everyone in the pavilion and everyone on the lawn singing with it, and we are all like that’s amazing Steve you’re on fire And then he played back in the highlife and we all sang out to it. We had our lighters going and stuff is a great concert and then I saw him again in 2017 opening up for Steely Dan and he played all his songs even give me some loving, and High heeled, a low struck boys, and when he played that song, he had all the audience sing along with that one too, and we all sing out the words to it and we’re like we love you Steve and he was playing the Oregon if no one has played before

John Barleycorn ... was earlier, I think. And he played with Clapton and Ginger Baker in Blind Faith. They recorded Can't Find My Way Home and Presence of the Lord. And before that with The Spencer Davis Group, he sang "I'm a Man" at age 15, I think. Check some of those songs out - you'll love them ...

"Come down from your throne and leave your body alone. Somebody must change." We all need to be changed by the only God and Creator Jesus, the Savior of souls. Come to Jesus with your brokenness. He sees and hears everything, and cares about all your needs, and good desires. He will save you and take you to heaven, if you give Him your whole broken heart and life to gain eternal joyous life. Rock on Steve and guys. Jesus loves you. So, put Lord and Saviour Jesus first in your Jesus-given life.

Sorry, I've got to add a dissenting voice here. As a 'hard-core' 'dyed in the wool' Steve Winwood fan, from the days of Spencer Davis Group, it hurts my heart and ears to hear some formerly great RB/blues material being turned into latin-tinged, NPR/PBS pablum. I know, Steve likes to try new versions of old stuff, I get that. That is to his credit. But, change for the sake of change, seldom has good results. My point is, sometimes you gotta adhere to that good ol' piece of wisdom; "if it ain't broke, don't "fix" it.

I was at this concert & resented Steve not being able to switch to piano, perhaps his best instrument after his incredible voice. He was trapped behind his B-3 needing to pedal thru the bass parts. An Artist of his pedigree should have a bass player who sings backup vocals & a pair of backup singers would be perfect.
