Around 1999-2000, I was at the Arizona Center AMC theater grand opening. Segal was there because they invited him and showed all his movie on every screen for free. The place was full of people for the grand opening and even the Mayor of Phoenix was walking around. We went to watch free movies and while waiting in line inside the main building, Segal walks by with a few people including one tall very thin guy with black curly hair down to his shoulders and wearing a shiny coat almost scaly with sequins in a stylish pattern. Segal was in a long dress goat of similar style. As they were walking down the hallway between auditoriums a man with his 11 year old kid asked Segal if he would sign his VHS copy of Out for Justice, Segal stopped to hear the kid ask, didnt say anything and just smugged his lip and shook his head saying "no". The kid looked crushed as they watch him walk by them only to get stopped by 2 blonde bimbos asking for a pic and he stops to oblige without hesitation. We left. We heard later the Mayor announced it as officially "Steven Seagal Day". What a waste.
