Her voice is exquisite on this track: a voice like no other, this is a perfect example of what made her standout above so many others.

I love all the versions of this song. The one on Trouble in Shangri-La is great the other early version is great which is a great guitar pickin song. And this version here is outstanding with the piano. They all stand alone in their own way

Fleetwood Mac stifled her....so many fantastic songs that they would not add to their albums. No wonder she went solo.

Sometimes traveling alone...you won’t get dragged down. She was free, she had potential, and look where she is now. She didn’t have a support system, she had her songbook and her heart. She followed what she thought was best.

Stifled is not the right word. It sounds like she was being actively oppressed and thats not the case. There is only so much room on an album in a band with three singer songwriters. But I get the larger substance of what you’re saying. She was a prolific songwriter and the band didn’t have room for so many songs.

@@EastSide-qc5oy that may be true, but stevie has expressed numerous times how the band for a very very long time didn’t take her seriously as an artist, if they ever did. Bella Donna was also a point to try and prove herself.

@@kristelpi652 I get that. I really do. And proved herself she did. But I think it’s complicated. I think a lot of the “not taking her seriously” was also wrapped up in some uneasiness some of them may have had about her solo success (particularly Lindsey) both in how it could affect the band positive or negative as well as insecurity and envy of her success. But I’m merely saying stifled isn’t really a great word because they did let her do her thing and shine while they split the album entries roughly three ways, and they were happy to capitalize on having her front and center on stage. I think all the dynamics of the band were complicated.

As should Silver Springs have been. Too many great songs jockeying for position -- mostly Stevie's. I think Lindsey vetoed them as being too personal for him to have included either of them. "I Don't Want To Know" should have been left off as a B-side.

They didn't know what to do. It's not a piano track. It's more atmospheric, like the Trouble In Shangri-la version. That version is amazing! It's one of her best songs. They nailed it.
