Stevie seems like a genuinely interesting and good person. Nice to hear some love for Nash in the ring. I recently watched all of 98 and 99 WCW and Nash sold a lot. In a ton of his tag matches he’s be on the ground and his partner would get the hot tag. You don’t see that with 7 footers too often.
@lawrencejohnson9154

I was thinking the same. Nash always seemed down for whatever as long as it seemed right. He gets crap for being all about the money at times but him and Hall got all the wrestlers guaranteed money soon after they jumped to WCW. They literally helped make the business better for the next generations in one of the best ways possible but nobody likes giving them credit for that often either.

I always thought he was underrated in the 90s. I wasn't crazy about the hairstyle that looked like it was lost in the previous decade, but his ability to get heat without doing very much at all was impressive. That was a tough ECW crowd and he managed to be a really effective, over heel, especially during that whole Raven/Dreamer/Beulah thing. Unfortunately, once he got to WCW, things went south in terms of booking and then they got really awful in that respect in WWE with the Right To Censor stuff. Yes, get the guy from ECW involved in a love triangle to play the leader of a group trying to cover everyone up. I don't know. Maybe you can turn him heel and try that later, but it seemed like practically every ECW and WCW guy was buried. Even if it didn't make sense from a business perspective, I understood why Vince buried the WCW guys. It was personal to him. When it came to guys like Raven, Stevie and others, it made zero sense. Heyman had been working with Vince for years when ECW was in operation, so burying ECW wrestlers was basically a matter of incompetence, and it's hard to say that about a billionaire. He was an old, white, Republican guy, and he never understood or cared for the culture that spawned Extreme. But you would have thought that Paul could have gone to Vince and convinced him to give the ECW guys something productive to do rather than what they ended up doing with the whole ECW revival. Nobody wanted to see WWE, the evil empire, run their beloved company which for much of its run represented everything the 2 major companies weren't. Obviously, when all the talent left by 1999, they were basically a low budget version of what WWF was in 1995.

Best crowd sign I ever saw was at a Mets game. In the late 70's and into the very early 80's, there was a fan who sat in the front row of every Mets home game. They called him "Sign Guy" because he brought several homemade signs with him to every game, and he would hold them up at various times throughout the game. During this era, the Mets were a very, very bad team and they sometimes would play exceptionally bad on defense. One day game, the Mets pulled off one of those Little League plays where none of the Mets defenders could hit their target: Third baseman overthrows the first baseman; the right fielder overthrows the entire infield; and the shortstop throws wild past the catcher. Everybody scores, including the batter, who had merely hit a soft grounder to third. While the crowd is booing their own team's effort, Sign Guy rises with a sign he had never held up before. It stated simply and appropriately: "We are not amused."

Sirs,i attended the 7 -7-97 nitro and my personal big rah-rah was right there in The Mid South Coliseum when Stevie came out to talk to Raven.i couldnt see it real good from my seat but i laughed when i heard stevie say OOWWW! , I knew Rave hit him. God bless Stevie and everyone at wsi. I tried to listen to a fake preacher and a pouting ol' country boy bickering and telling each other "oh,it's fine,oh everything's okay " and fussing and it was drizzlin' shi#$ like kids. So professional archives with total pros here,much better.praise God and thank You Jesus

Nash didn’t need to be Ricky Steamboat out there. He’s 6’11”. He worked like a traditional big man because that’s what he was. For all the crap he takes, you never hear reports of Nash injuring anyone. He worked safe and was effective and convincing. Oh, and he was over as hell in 97-98 and made an assload of money in the business.

Glad he put Balls athleticism over. He was underrated as a worker. Came across as 100% legit and believable. Wwf or WCW could have done something with a 50 pounds lighter lazer focused Balls Mahoney imo. ECW certainly should have gotten more out of him.
