He's not even known as a drummer, and he's better then most drummers. His drumming alone is genius. He's also one of the greatest singers, song writers, synth players and harmonica players of all time. Talent like Stevie doesn't come along too often. It's more than just an extraordinary technical ability, his music is profound and beautiful. He touches people in a way few artists ever do.

When you listen to the songs where Stevie plays the drums on, and didn't know that he's on the skins (thinking he's just singing and playing the keyboard), one is struck with the uncanny conversational relationship between the vocals and drums (particularly the cymbals). They sounds like they're one. And they are essentially. One mind. One vision. I love Stevie and his great lyrics and singing. So spiritual in the broadest and best sense.

I remember a concert in Oakland, California, called Soulvile 1966 or Soulville 1967, at which Stevie took a similar solo. I didn't make any mistakes. I've seen this video about 200 times. I basically have this Drum Solo memorized. Lol. I'm seventeen and I'm a die hard Stevie Wonder fan. The singer and the rest of the musicians were impressed with my "Virtuoso and prowess on the skins." I've been playing the drums since before Kindergarden. I've never practiced or taken a lesson. It's just God given talent. At one point during the performance they required me to perform a drum solo. I decided to reduplicate this Solo particular solo. I reduplicated this entire solo except the part where Stevie is murdering the bass drum at the end. LOL. For 5 minutes, all eyes were on me. When I was finished soling and cued the band in before ending the song and performance, everybody was speechless. Thank you Stevie!
