I have listened to this recording hundreds of times in the past year. The first time I heard it, I was blown away. I didn't think I could be more impressed with Stevie than I already was, but his band's performance of this number raised my level of appreciation for him. This recording totally lifts my mood. It's pure ecstasy.

When I saw Stevie in '72 or so (with the brand new Earth, Wind & Fire, and Mandrill) at Cole Field House at University of Maryland, HE got up and played furious solos on every instrument on stage. He was to some extent a pioneer in playing most of the instruments on his early albums...... not to mention all the composition and studio engineering. The story of Stevie's break into the business is he was a harmonica player who'd stood outside a recording studio, day after day after day, very persistently asking if they needed any harmonica parts...... then finally, his determination paid off...... Just 'cuz it's a statement to their talent, other artists who were pretty much a one-man band on their albums include Paul McCartney (first solo album), Todd Rundgren, and check out the credits on Marvin Gaye's "Midnight Love" album....... nothing short of phenomenal achievement.

Ryan Kilgore (Saxophone), Errol Cooney (Guitar), Roman Johnson (Keyboards), Dwight Adams (Trumpet), Kyle Bolden (Guitar), Munyungo Jackson (Percussion), Victoria Theodore (Keyboards/Vocals), Nate Watts (Bass), Fausto Cuevas III (Percussion) Stevie Wonder (Vocals/Keyboards/Harmonica/Clavinet) Danny Meta (Drums). Keith John / Aisha Morris / Kimberly Brewer / Dejah Gomez. En definitiva…. una maravilla.
