I find it very neat how little the AUG family of rifles kicks. You also have great recoil control so that helps a bit, and the 5.56 cartridge isn't the most aggressive, but with how short and (I'm assuming) light it is, I just expect more recoil, but it surprises me every time.

It is very controllable despite its lightweight. I have fired the older models with a fixed optic on it and found the field of view to be less desirable, but love having the rail on this model so that I can try different optics on it.

This gun is awesome, so freaking smooth

It really is! Despite it being lightweight, it is very easy to manage.

The fire mode modularity mechanism is interesting.

It really is. Not really sure how often it gets used, but having the ability to determine mode of fire allows each individual unit or user to decide for themselves.

The NZ army used Australian made (Lithgow Small Arms and then later Thales) three position safety catch. The Australian Army uses the two position safety catch with the two stage trigger. I've never seen a F88(A1-A3) or EF88 with a burst trigger mechanism.

You should to do a yt “short” showing it taking mags. (Which ones) and the barrel swap. Great vid as always keep it up

I don't think the Australian versions have the quick change barrel like the Austrian versions.

Is that AUG that easy on recoil or are you that good with full auto? Great video on the AUG, I really need to add this to my bullpup collection lol.

It’s a little bit of both. With the bolt being further back, the moving parts are behind the center of balance and against the shoulder which makes it more controllable, and I also have a lot of experience shooting full auto firearms.

I am wondering, how did you get ahold of an Australian variant? i'm assuming they'd be hard to come by.
@LegacyArmsIntl
Жыл бұрын
When I got this the Australian variants were somewhat available. The Australian Army had switched over to their newer version of the Steyr AUG called the F88 made by Thales, and their special forces had switched to the M4, which made these F90 guns and kits more available. A few companies imported them into the U.S. as parts kits and I was able to acquire one. I haven’t looked in a while to see if they are still available.

How would you rate it against the tavor for functionality and reliability
@LegacyArmsIntl

The AUG is iconic and historic, but I would take the TAVOR any day of the week. You can see in my video of the Tavor I am pretty impressed with it and the way it was made and the way that it handles in full auto mode.

A lot of the modern firearms out there feel like toys to me because of their polymer composition and lightweight, yet many are very controllable.

♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️♠️

You are correct… this is an Austrian-made rifle, but the configuration that this particular rifle is in was made for the Australian Army.

Both are correct, asI mention in the video, the Steyr AUG is a Austrian made machine gun, but this version, as configured, was made under contract for the Australian Army.
