They do look very nice but I'm unlikely to ever own one myself. Out of principal i refuse to buy a gun where they can't make the effort to machine a pic rail into the block and expect you to clamp an adaptor on. Picatinny is the industry standard and has been for ages. FX did it with the Crown mk2 years ago and those still using dovetail won't be getting any of my money. And as for not screw cutting the barrel for a silencer... 🤦

Nice guns and video but im a complete novice and looking for my first good air rifle. Springer that is. Can't afford all the necessary equipment that pcp involves. My only experience is my friend had a break barrel when we were kids. After watching a lot of youtube I think the hw 97 kt. Was hoping you could stear me in the right direction as far as springers go.thanks mate in advance.

Interesting film. It appeared that a few months ago you were becoming jaded with the developments in air gun technology. I still get great pleasure from using break barrel springers. I suppose it's all about whatever floats your boat. Best wishes.

Great vid, as usual. Looking forward to seeing the shroud on your Steyr and how you think it compares to a short mod?

Paul what do you think of the new EDGUN FENIX I really love the look of it but every dam video I seen so far is in Russian but I absolutely love the look of the gun. As for your STEYER it's a beatiful work of art and I know it's a top quality gun.

Paul, I’m somewhat older than you and I’m on the other side of the pond… I have a Steyr Pro-X Scout with shrouded barrel, in .22 (40 jewels). ( In the USA, The Scout comes with a factory mounted, fully shrouded barrel, not an “add-on” sleeve). As beautiful as the walnut stock is/was, I had a very high gloss laminated stock made by Gary Cane in England. It took almost a year before I received it, but it is the most spectacular “piece of wood” I’ve ever seen, and matches the exceptional quality of the Steyr, making it even more unique. 10mm groups at 50 yards with both 18gr JSB and Hades pellets. I have a Steyr LG110 for 10mtr shooting as well….They don’t advertise because Steyr doesn’t have to, word of mouth is all they need. By the way, I purchased my Scout about two years ago after watching one of your videos…so thank you.

Always like to hear from our friends across the pond . I'm thinking at 40 joules in .22 it must be great to shoot . I was looking at a Gary Cane stock for mine

@@fieldsportcymru4636 Paul, I have a few sub 12 ft lb springers from my USAF days in England decades ago,. Now of course everything here is at least 29 ft lbs (40 jewels). When I went to Gary Cane, they sent me images of a selection of blanks to choose from…I also told them I wanted a very deep high gloss finish to really show the grain detail. I wanted the depth and shine to rival that of a grade 5 Purdey shotgun!! Aside from the perfectly matching Cheek piece, The grip, thumb rest and overall fit to the metalwork is exemplary! They added a beautiful rubber butt pad (chrome trimmed). The stock is heavier than the factory walnut stock, but increases the steadiness if shooting unsupported. It’ll cost a few quid, and It’ll take many months to receive it, but you won’t regret it!!
