For what it's worth, making a statement like "Women always have to win an argument, don't they?" or "Men are so fragile" is called a Kafka trap. Basically, it's a statement about a person or group, which is impossible for the target to disprove without saying "that's a kafka trap". If someone hits you with "well you men all have such fragile egos" and you go "What? No we don't" they'll just go "see? fragility at work". If you say nothing, they get away with saying it the same. This event in the video would also be a kafka trap because she didn't have the chance to respond to inappropriate debate conduct.

To clarify, I don't think it's wrong to be offended, it's just part of human nature. However, the point I'm trying to make is that if she knew that it was a "petty dismissive insult", she shouldn't have taken it seriously, right? Adding insult to injury, he made a statement regarding how people like her are too easily offended, and by taking offense to the comment instead of playing it cool, she immediately proved his point right. tl;dr don't try to falsify a statement only to prove it to be true
@Allnamestakenzomg

She proved his entire point by being outraged. If you watch or listen to the full video or the one to the right "Kate Smurthwaite Is Fun!" she actively contradicts herself countless times throughout the entire debate. To all the people saying that she proved his point: no, she didn't prove his claim, but his claim is right. If we try to look at things objectively and factually, as we always should, she didn't prove anything as she's not the physical embodiment of all feminists and his retort is not everything in this world. It's just an individual instance and his is retort is quite clearly meant to offend her and jab at her and it is only natural to react this way. It's like constantly poking someone with a stick and asking why they're always so mad, they're not always mad, but they're clearly mad now because you're poking them with a stick. But nevertheless his point is correct: there will always be something that will bother feminists and other social justice warriors, because as I see it, social injustice will not be gone in the near future and there will be people who would be disgusted and bothered by its existence, so because of that he is right. And it should be really bad for you if nothing "triggers" you; no injustice, no unfairness, no suffering. There are bad things in this world, terrible things that should be talked about, cared about. I understand that a lot of people would gladly chose to ignore someone's suffering and live their comfy lives not bothered by anything, but this will not make the world a better place: apathy is the root of evil. But another thing that I want to point out is that people seem to like just making someone mad for the pure sake of it. It's not productive, it's just being a bad, insufferable person. I completely fail to see any value in this and still baffled by why some people seem so pleased by someone's misery. And if we're on a topic of someone being constantly angry then we should talk about anti-social justice people. If there's a female protagonist, for instance, then you can definitely expect them being displeased with it and you can expect to hear some baseless claims that the developers were pressured by someone to make the MC a girl, because apparently no developer ever would make MC a girl on their own volition. And if the developers decide not to include any white men in their video game then you can expect a "triggering", if you will, on a massive scale. Don't get me wrong, I don't like someone being sad, we're all people and we should care about each other, but it's quite funny that the same people who accuse eveybody but them to be always "triggered" by something are the same people that get mad over most inoffensive things such as existence of black people or strong women. It's all sounds like projection to me, to be honest. It's always easy to dismiss tolerance to others, but ask it for yourself. Try to work on your critical thinking skills, people, I understand that in situations like the one in this vid it doesn't matter what's the truth is, what matters is how the audience reacts and the audience is not going to judge based on some logical conclusions, but based on how mad someone got which is just low, but the truth itself is never determined by popularity or acceptance or how funny or "sharp" it sounds.

Artemis Bumwhistle So she's not allowed to react to a sweeping and insulting generalisation (that doesn't hold up) because part of that statement said she would react? Don't be a fucking imbecile. The point was that feminists are very easily offended, which is true. The debate was about the offence taken at pet names. Clearly, a lot of people agree that it is true, that feminists are easily triggered. Is it offensively stupid if it holds to be true? I support that she should be allowed to respond, but lets be honest, she was triggered, as you clearly are. Let me guess, you're a feminist?
