"Great Videos"!! Thank you very much. You just saved me a few hundred dollars from buying a new saw, and a couple hundred in repairs at my Stihl dealer!! I just replaced the Carburetor & Oil Line myself thanks to your easy to follow videos. I love my little MS180 and have had it about 7-years. I use it for much bigger jobs than it's rated for and is always my first grab. Last year it started cutting out and leaking oil so I used my MS290 after the Stihl dealer told me how much it would be to repair the old saw and suggested I buy a new one instead. (I need to find a new dealer I think) These videos proved invaluable to me and even though it was not quite as easy as your experience made it appear, a little playing around made it work fine. I really wish I had watched them sooner. I had a lot of trouble getting the oil line to seat. My method was to grab the line with needle nose pliers after fishing it out the oil fill hole and pulling while pushing on the grommet end. It popped right in with very little trouble. Replacing the entire Carb seemed much easier for the difference in money and it went in flawlessly. Please keep the videos coming, you are a natural and appreciated by all!!!

Don just want to thankyou from Aussie for your vids watched most of em and they are first rate for training quick fix and diagnosing. The plastic jaws or clip that the shaft clips into carrying the choke and kill switch leaver. well I snapped it off. So quick fix cause I didn't want to buy the complete casting assm. Was to drill a hole, forward of the jaws towards the cyl. and threaded a cable tie through it around the shaft and tightened up firmly Had to be careful of the fuel line, but the c/saw is blowing lots of smoke and is on its last legs due to lack of love by the owner. Repair worked a treat, So thanks for all your info and know how. I hope you have thanked the bloke that showed you how to use and look after your tools as well. Nothing like learning good hands on experience for an old timer that knows the ropes and how to impart the technical knowledge. Well done . Pete

When removing the gas and oil caps, you can insert a small screwdriver or pick through the small corner area of the plastic 'hook'/retainer. When you lift up on it, It will turn sideways and you can lift it right out of the tank without having to put stress on the rope or hook. Great video. Thanks.

The big advantage of removing the tank to install the line is you can confirm the line pick-up will be at the bottom of the oil tank. Even with the tank removed it is a chore to get the oil line to enter the lower part of the tank. It likes to curl up in the upper part of the tank. Without the pickup being in the bottom you lose about half or more of your usable oil. And having the line seal properly on the bottom of the tank is also far easier.

I followed your instructions only to discover I had the wrong oil line. So after putting it back together it stopped leaking. Maybe these lines come lose over time and bumping ? I will get the right line and keep a hose incase. Now that you have taught me how to replace it.

Excellent video. You're camera views are great. Most videos, the person's hands are totally in the way, or they go off camera and you can't see what they're doing. Awesome tips about making sure that the tips of the oil hose are properly stuffed in behind the plastic casing for a proper seal. There was a tip elsewhere to use a bit of Room-Temperature-Vulcanizing (RTV) silicone sealant at the points where the hose goes into the two ports. I'm guessing that's to make sure that the seal is super solid.

@@thomass4773 I struggled too, and eventually took the tank out. Glad I did given all the oily crud behind there, and I could clean the oil tank fully. And was easy to put the oil line in too. Used the soft rope in the cylinder as the piston stop, and tapped on the end of the crank with a brass punch to free up the flywheel. Finish putting it together today.
