*Coming up on having had this saw for a year....am a casual user and bought it to cut up sections for bowl blanks. Easy to start, **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend even after storage for a couple of months. Simple chain tension adjustment. Just cut up some 20" Osage Orange, including ripping bolts in half (at an angle). Like butter!*

Saw arrived yesterday kzitem.infoUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and today I cut about 3/4 cord of wood with it. Make sure you get an extension chord that is at least 12 gauge wire, minimum. This is my first electric in about 10 years, and things sure have improved. The self-sharpener works great, and it just kept cutting through some pretty decent logs. Wear your eye protection, and ear protection. Excellent saw.

So it was the coil? I replaced carb and filter and hose but I skipped that. I sure hope this works with mine. So you didn’t need a new coil…just adjusting? Not sure how to do that but will search. Thanks

@@carrotcake1955 my issue was the coil got loose and the air gap became too wide making it have no spark. I adjusted the air gap to factory specs and it has been fine ever since…

my MS 250 won’t start up after I left it sitting in barn during winter! I emptied the fuel tank and let the carburetor dry out. Is this related to your issue? If so what’s part number you replaced?

I love them old Homelite's. I have a Super XL12, and a regular XL12, that I use every year to cut my Dad's Winter wood. He owns a big Stihl, and he is really shocked how well my Homelite's stand up to his Stihl. Only problem in comparison is the old Homelite's are a lot heavier. I guess that's why their still running and still reliable 50 years later. I have 2 Super EZ's, that I'm getting ready to rebuild the carbs on, to use as a lighter limb cutting saw.

If it was full of saw dust and junk and never cleaned out of course it's going to affect the coil and fly wheel gap and dust in the carb. Just saying but regular cleaning after each use on the recoil side and the bar and chain side will prevent this in the future

If the coil has been touching or has gotten closer to the flywheel your crank bearings may be bad or the engine mountings could be loose. If the engine is moving in the plastic case you case is worn.
@denisdenis2034
Жыл бұрын
on this model the coil is bolted on crankcase so the engine mount can't be responsable:)
@larryreno8293
Жыл бұрын
@@denisdenis2034 I would urge you to look at a video I posted, but I would understand if you didn’t so I’ll quickly explain. The clamshell type motor is bolted to the plastic case assembly. In the case are 4 metal bushings that the engine bolts pass through, holding the engine. The coil also bolts to the case, when the saw gets worked beyond its limits the case will wear at the point where bushing pass through the plastic. The engine, now lose and sloppy, will contact the coil.
