I'm happy you both go around to places and help support the local city's businesses. And that you're able to turn it into a video to showcase these businesses is also really nice. It makes me want to visit there if I'm able to when I'm able to go back to Japan. I'm glad things in Nishi-Nippori seem to be going well for both of you. I'm also excited for the news about more regular videos being released.

Love this style of video where we see local businesses in your area and hear a mixture of English and Japanese. It inspires me to want to keep learning Japanese. I really hope to visit there again some day when travel is less restricted. I’ll be sure to walk off the beaten path and visit the small businesses that adapted to survive during these hard times. Love your work 💗

I think what stands out in your videos is that despite Tokyo's depiction as this cosmopolitan international mega city, at its heart it a city of many beautiful neighborhoods and communities. Despite the world closing down for a brief moment, Tokyo still shines as many beautiful distinct neighborhoods full of people just trying to survive and find their happiness. Thank you for drawing attention to this strength

I think it's true with most cities. When I lived in NYC, there were the parts you see in all the movies, but then there are also the parts, like Nishi-Nippori, which kind of hidden away little neighborhoods. We're trying to find those spots in Tokyo for both our audience and ourselves.

The bacon wraps Boomer cooked looked so good! I wanna try cooking what you cook 😋 😆. When Japan opens and I get to go over, the first thing I plan to do is find bookstores in my area. I really appreciate all the business you show all the time. 🤗 I really look forward to exploring Japan and finding more bookstores! 📕🤓

I love that you guys are also helping the local businesses in your neighborhood. It really shows you guys care about your community & the people there. I’m sure your neighbors & the community really appreciate it. I think we can tend to forget to support the many local businesses that are being affected during this time. The “What are we here for again?” at 2:48 is me every time I go shopping . Too real 😂🙈 Another great video, I liked the casual, easy energy of this, and the natural chats with locals mixed with the scenic shots. This is an image of Tokyo that you don’t often find in most J-vlog vids so thanks for sharing. The time just flew by 👍

It's so great to see you supporting local businesses. It would be cool if businesses would offer discounted coupons to future travelers. You know, like if I know I'll be in Osaka next year and my son tells me some places we would definitely go to eat, I could buy gift certificates now for a discounted dinner later. Paying ahead to help keep them afloat now.

@@boomlore73 Here are some of the places I used to frequent when I lived in the area. You might have visited them before seeing as you guys explore the area quite a bit but there might be something new that you haven't heard of: Himitsudō(it's a kakigori shop in Yanaka Ginza), Inageya(an unagi spot in Nishinippori), mammies an sourire(a pretty famous apple pie shop also in YG), Isetatsu(washi paper store near sendagi station), Ramen Nijubunnoichi(a ramen spot along the toden Arakawa line. It' pretty close to Machiya), Yui-no-mori Arakawa(Arakawa's public library. They've got English books as well. I use to take books out and read them at the cafe downstairs), Ichigoya(bakery by Mikawashima ststion. Loved their financiers and strawberry roll cake), Higurashi Bakery(an aesthetic bakery that opened like 3 years ago while I was in the language school nearby), and Kohikiya(super cute cafe on Happy Point street. Lots of moms and their babies gather there lol).
