great tuto. what do you think about the new 16-25 F/2.8 for a74 and a7r5 ? much cheaper and lighter. Crop mode on a 7rv gives a 37.5mm close to 35mm with enough resolution, if needed

Thanks! Haven't gotten to try it yet, but from what I've seen, looks like a great option if APS-C crop mode gets you the extra field of view you need.

If you don't mind a big heavy wide angle lens that's only useful from 16-28mm, then it's ok.

What about 28-35mm? Size and weight is still pretty on par with other similar wide zooms, even the GM II.

@@andrewsaraceni The first 16-35mm GM was notoriously bad at the long end. I never used mine at 35mm. I would use my 24-70mm GM at 35mm instead which was really big and heavy. These days I try to lighten my load as much as possible.

@@PhotoTrekr The GM IIs definitely help on the size/weight, especially the 24-70. Though the new 16-25mm and 24-50mm Gs are also good options there.

@@andrewsaraceni I agree. I tried the 16-35mm GM II. It's better at the long end. But, I don't shoot wider than 24mm when I'm home. I do shoot wider when I travel to the western US. But, I wasn't that impressed with the 16-35mm GM II for the price. So I returned it. I did buy the 16-25mm G and 24-50mm G to use for travel.
