love this synth. Mika Forsling did a lfo sync video wich is one of the best ever electronic sound I ear in my life. I open mine and this is really four independants card synth +a fifth one for sync and one for the amp. incredible build quality on the card inside, very impressive. love also OORA wich is making this a complet set up.

One of my favourite synths I don't own. "Discovered" it about half a year ago and it seems like the perfect synth for me. But I'm not there yet. Other things with a lower price tag are much more sensible. I just know that I'm going to own this rather sooner than later :D

@@peladoclaus The music of Mika Forsling is good for this synth and vice versa. I like how he's into clean tones and the music pretty much always grooves in this simple, minimalistic way. You can tell he's into textures but he doesn't modulate or filter all day, which is kind of cool.

i think this is an informative review about the per4. i don't know why people are complaining about it. it's not the best review on youtube and it doesn't make the synth shine. this is actuallu the strength of the review imo. you can hear how the synth sounds when its operated in a mediocre way. probably most of us watching youtube synth videos fall into that category of synthesists. if your playing style is very physical and impulsive then this synth is not for you. if you are diligent enough to read the manual and focused enough to concentrate on knob tweaking then you probably will enjoy this synth.
@Jimantronic

Great review, thanks. I would add that the filter cutoff is mapped to midi after touch, that the individual outs are inserts, so you can add an effect in-line for each synth voice, and that this synth produces mostly very basic tones, but if you add even a little reverb or delay on there, it blooms into something truly beautiful. I got one last month and I absolutely love it 🥰

I feel the same. It might be lacking a certain aggressiveness and it is always gentle, musical and beautiful. Great video, I love mine, it’s certainly not a synth you’d buy if you don’t own any hardware synth already. What I like doing is when you run a midi sequence through it whilst tweaking keep flicking between the 3 VCA modes, that’s where the magic happens I’m surprised stimming didn’t do this, maybe Tim might do it on his upcoming video…….oh and did he mention the LFO actually had 4 waveforms, I’m sad I read the manual once upon a time.

Tune every time? No, No, No. I have my perFOURMer in a rack, and after about 20 minutes it has held almost perfect pitch for two years without user intervention. Unless you live in a fridge or an oven, I don't believe after the correct warm-up period, at least my perFOURmer requires any tuning. The same with my Vermona '14, let it warm up for about 20 minutes and it is right back in the tune zone.
@musictalk-tech
3 жыл бұрын
Not sure how much you tweak live but he is talking about accidentally adjusting a tune knob, which happens quite often as they are not really clever placed. When you just carefully touch everything with your fingertips you probably never had or will have the tune problem once it is in correct tune😉
