@isidrosandoval697

The old paper felt was left we layer over it with the rhino only. On the older homes we do remove the all the felt to the deck. Because most time there's over 5 layers of felt or more

I have a question about this how will it perform on a steep roof because nail caps have grooves and these are regular nails will they come off while walking on the felt ? Also where do you buy the gun and the caps

The coil nail that come with it are ring shank nails. I think they hold better then the standard cap nails

Did you notice the bullseye marking on the synthetic underlayment? These are where the manufacturer specified the product be nailed for regular and high wind resistant installation. The biggest problem with roofers is that they are ignoring these required nailing patterns and just tacking the synthetic down as shown in this video. As you can see they are not placing near enough nails in the product to meet the manufacturer installation instructions thus voiding the warranty and compromising the benefit of the products wind resistance. These guys need more training but it looks like a good gun in the right hands.
@isidrosandoval697

Darius Grimes this video was meant to show how fast this gun is that's all. This video was not on proper installation of synthetic underlayment. If you'd like to request a video of proper installation of synthetic underlayment all you have to do is ask and I can post one up as soon as possible.please feel free to request any kind of synthetic underlayment you would like to see.

that goes under the shingles i would not worry about them and there nail pattern i care about my shingles and how they are nailed
@traceyjscott069

Let's be perfectly clear! If you take that synthetic underlayment and put all those nails in it like the manufacturer states on the product and you get a serious wind driven drain, It Will Leak! Guaranteed! So I'm willing to bet that's why he put felt down first and then put the synthetic underlayment over the top of that. So he would have a watertight, Truly Dried-In, underlayment system.

It doesn't matter. If you can shingle properly, you don't even need felt. ALL of this shit is manufactured to fail. It's roofing, not brain surgery

I did have a similar problem with the titanium underlayment I've been using Rhino now for some years and haven't had any problems with it in my opinion Rhino is by far one of the best quality of synthetic underlayment that I've installed so to the question synthetic or asphalt paper I will choose synthetic it's more durable. The one bad thing about using felt paper is that if it's left overnight uncovered yet it will keep you dry but in the morning will be extremely wrinkled.
@Gilkshe
5 жыл бұрын
Isidro Sandoval really? Here in miami after you do the dry in you need to wait for inspection so you leave the felt over night and it never wrinkles, I’m afraid to leave the synthetic over night because I’m afraid it will leak
