@@Keith_Mikell Really slow at heavyweight? He spent about 1 minute on his feet, for one, so you barely even have anything to judge that off of. Also, everything he threw was as fast as he did at 205. Cyril is well known for being the fastest heavyweight right now, and Jones was significantly faster than Cyril normally moves, as well as faster than Cyril in this fight. Stipe is old, and probably permanently rattled after that KO+hammerfist from Francis. Francis is a terrible grappler, and if Francis can reverse Stipe's takedown and completely manhandle him on the ground, Jones is going to be able to do that even easier. Also, Jones was only nervous because it was his first fight in 3 years. Nobody has as much experience as him in these high profile fights with giant crowds, and that will also favor him against Stipe. Stipe would be very lucky to pull this off, in my opinion.

Very interesting fight . My heart is all for Stipe but my mind is for Jones. Hard not to bet on jones here given his history and stipes age, but there’s a catch here. Many people are saying Francis would be a harder fight than Stipe. That’s true in some ways and not true in others. Stipe has much more experience in different aspects of mma than Francis but Francis obviously has the strength and raw knockout power. I could see Jon finishing Francis in a similar way to Cyril, not as fast but he doesn’t have as much experience in different positions that we have seen anyway. If Stipe puts on 20 lbs of muscle and can still maintain stamina for five rounds, this has the potential to be legendary. I highly doubt Jones will knockout Stipe. I could see Jones submitting him or winning a decision . Probably a decision or else Stipe knocks out Jones. Stipe has heavy hands everyone always forgets about. I can’t wait for this fight and I really hope Stipe puts his everything into this camp. Stipes just a regular dude who kicks everyone’s asses, I hope he wins . I think Jones completely destroys Stipe. Stipe doesn’t have the body gain 20 lbs. Jones had the length to get bigger and not lose much speed. Stipe is already pushing the balance between being as heavy as you can while being fit. And against Stipe, Jones has his huge reach advantage back against a older fighter who is on a huge KO loss. Given that Jones now tasted a fast finish against a real heavyweight, I think he is going to finish Stipe in round one as well.

I like Stipe as a human being and his record at Heavyweight makes him the best Heavyweight of all time. But with Jon's record at light Heavyweight and now being the Heavyweight champ id like to see him rip through the Heavyweight division and be untouchable with being the GOAT. His checkered past unfortunately will always loom over his career with alot of people.

Great match up on paper but we just saw what Jones did to the number 1 contender who’s 3 years younger than jon. Stipe will be 5.. possibly 6 years older than jones. Hope he can still do his thing but I got a feeling like jon really puts a pace on stipe with his kicks and the high output single shot variance. It’s one thing running from Francis who can only swing his hands, Jon jones picking him apart will be something he’s never seen in his career, goes the same way the chael fight does imo.

Much respect to Stipe! One of the Greatest of all time! I will never fully respect Jones. He cleaned out the Light Heavy Weight Division a LONG LONG time ago and should have made the move to Heavy Weight a long time ago. He Chose to stay in the LHW division for years longer than he should have because it was easier and safer. His Reach and Length were big advantages over opponents in this division.. Not so much in the Heavyweight Division. Heavyweight power also made him more vulnerable. The Very Best Fighters are in the Heavy Weight Division. Why wouldn't the Greatest of All Time want to fight the Best?? Jones avoided Cain, Stipe, Francis and other heavyweights in their primes while he hid in the LHW Division. NOW, he's ready to fight Stipe when Stipe is almost 40 and past his best years.... Impressive!!! Stipe fought Francis when Francis was knocking out all his opponents in under a minute... And Stipe beat him in their first fight!!! This is what champions do. I will never consider Jones the GOAT when he didn't seek out the BEST Fighters of his era and challenge them.
