Oh my gosh, Jill you are amazing. I have watched dozens of videos on this stitch and couldn't grasp it, they all teach it vertically, Finally found one by you and you are teaching it horizontally, what a difference this makes, I finally got it. Thank you so much!

THANK YOU!!! My local guild, South Florida Jewelry Arts Guild, is bringing in a teacher for a workshop and the student must have a working knowledge of CRAW and Peyote. Your visual and audio instructions here are very clear. I will be practicing this technique by repeating this video repeatedly until I am comfortable performing the technique via my iPad (wonderful teaching aide). I know you are coming to the Florida West Coast Bead Society in November, but I have a conflict and am unable to attend....;-{ Sorry to miss the opportunity to meet you and attend one of your classes. Happy Creative Beading!!.....;-}

this has been very helpful and RAW is very difficult for me. I have watched a couple of times and now have two cube units. I realized that I have to really tighten the thread. I probably will watch many more times but, I am a slow learner. Something about only getting C's in High school geometry.

Terrific video, Jill. I've been "afraid" of tackling this technique (although I've been playing with RAW for a long time), but this really made things much more clear. And I have to learn CRAW, and become reasonably comfortable with it over the next few months because I'm going to the Beader's Dream Retreat in October, and Marcia DaCoster is teaching a class that requires knowledge of CRAW. So I think I will be referring to your video more than once!

Hi Jill. I passed over this video before cause others I'd watched made me realize I'd NEVER learn this stitch....and I really wanted to. As another lady said.... it was the "taco" that helped and she was right!! Your explanation was spot on! Now I can't wait to try it. Just a quick question... do you have a video showing how to finish this off? I'd love to make a necklace. Thanks again!

Excelllent tutorial! CRAW is challenging & your suggestion of starting with the firepolish size is perfect! In addition, you clearly demonstrate how maintaining consistent orientation ensures units can be constructed methodically. Great job! Your lighting & videography are superb! This is by far the clearest, most easy to understand explanation of cubic right angle weave that I have ever had the pleasure of viewing. I have been beading for about 10yrs now but I am always watching videos for inspiration and tips on how to improve my technique. I have watched many, many videos on cubic RAW and even though it is a technique that I have done before, I tend to find myself confused and second guessing my own abilities. Your teaching method is flawless and I thank you for your time and the effort that you extend to us viewers through your videos. Please continue your fantastic work.

I don't have any problem doing this stitch. What I'm not sure of, is the terminology. Are "Cubic RAW" (CRAW) and "Tubular RAW" the same thing? They are, aren't they? Please tell me they are. LOL! And I see some folks that start the bottom ring, then build upward from that ONE ring, whereas others build three basic units, as you start out in this video, then build the fourth unit as the "join"; then build upwards from there. End result's the same, right? Or am I missing something in the two that makes CRAW and TRAW different??
@JillWisemanDesigns
9 жыл бұрын
+Terrie Hoelscher Technically they are different. CRAW is made of cubes so when you make a CRAW rope, it's square with 4 sides. Tubular RAW can be made with 3, 4, 5, or really any number of sides. Some in the industry have created yet another term for this type of stitching called PRAW, or prismatic right-angle weave. But basically it's splitting hairs on terms. It's all some form of RAW.
