Stiv nailed it with what he said . It was the record company that destroyed dead boys . They wanted them to do stuff that they didn't want to do and one thing led to another and the dead boys were over . I think stivs best work was with the dead boys and stiv should be the mascot of punk rock music .

I’d fuckin join the Lords cult in heartbeat: get to dress cool, stay up all night with a cute Church groupie listen/play the best music in the world and drink champagne in an easy chair before noon. It’s like the Manson family minus the beads and beards... oh yeah, and minus the random acts of violence and senseless murders!

as much as i like Stiv ( i saw him twice with the Lords over here in Brussels) he's wrong, and myrecordcollection is right, Elvis and everybody else, Stiv included wanted mass success, ain't nothing wrong with that; Plus as much as i enjoyed one of the two Brussels Lords shows (the other one sucked), the Lords videos stunk a bad smell of eighties opportunisme; All this and more, little girl... anytime, merry Xmas everybody, Ivan Holder

It's true what he said about anarchy. People see it as a dumb fashion sense or "just fcking sht up". I've gotten shit for my anarchy tattoo on my calf, but I know what it's really about. I don't care that people don't.

Surprisingly pretentious. The idea that rock 'n' roll was an art form that became corrupted by corporations seems pretty wrongheaded to me. Rock was pretty commercial right from the get-go, and while it might be a shame that commercial values shape the music that we all like, that's not a change or development. It might not be fun to admit it, but rock 'n' roll is a commercial form and always has been.

You're completely wrong. While, in the current system, there is no conflict between commercial success and reaching audiences, in turn giving some legitimacy to your point, Stiv is implying the conflict lies instead in values. The artist's values conflict with those of the businessman and for that reason one finds the cultural hostility Stiv believes significant and somehow central to all his ideas. I'm sure you find it simple to conceive that in order for each to do their jobs both categories need to conduct themselves differently, their understanding of how to conduct themselves well to achieve their respective goals is 'widened' by the values they have to incorporate. He doesn't think very clearly, but he's right.

Couldn't agree with you LESS, this guy is or was, no Brittany Spears or Justin Bieber... THAT is what Stiv is talking about, now the bastardization of music is worse than EVER. Even all the"normal" poppy little girl/boy bands are filled with some weird, weird symbolism etc... Yes, the Illuminati craze, they don't even care to "hide it" anymore... And, they do exist and no, I don't believe that they are a bunch of "nice people"...

myrecordcollection of course Rn’R’s commercial, the beggars’ got to make a living, but when it’s form and/or content is dick-tated by the Man and his Stack you get castrated-swagger like the Dead Boys “we’ve come for your children” which in turn helped end the band.
