@@hypecrew4900 I can give an update, you can drift stock diff on snow no issue, I went ham now in the snow with my 330i. But dry asphalt is another story imo

Its has to be manual to do that with control over the car with an automatic you can't do that
@frankright4454

You can do that with the e46 auto, got to put in sport and switch over to "manual" to hold the gear a fraction longer and stay under 5K, but it ain't easy even if the road is a little wet and greasy. And you definitely can't use the hand brake to start the slide, it's just not about that life. Overall I agree, it's better, safer, and more rewarding to do it in a manual, but bottom line you can with an auto, with control, but you better have your balls bolted on that day and your premiums fully paid up.

I'm curious about welding my diff does it cause any problems for high speed driving, because I regurally drive above 190 km/h average speed 220 km/h and if it does I will look into getting an proper LSD

Welded diff is harder to drive, for example on turns its either you drive straight or sideways , unless you slow down
@joelsnake8

Definitely not a good idea. There are some ways to install an LSD though

I have an LSD in my 330ci and I do recommend it. A welded diff would not be fun on the street especially when its dry out.

@@yamman93 Yep an LSD would be much better and safer.
