Mashed Potatoe(s) was one of the coolest trails in Moab! But today it is CLOSED! The Blue Ribbon Coalition is fighting hard to get it reopened. It was erased by SUWA and the BLM claiming it was massively overcrowded, trash everywhere, wild free for all wheeling, wildlife interference, and soil destruction. My buddy Zak and I investigated these claims as well as made a trail guide of a trail I wish I had found sooner. We used a stock Jeep Wrangler JL and stock Ford Bronco to check out this trail. If you want to learn more about these closures, watch this video from Marcus Trusty...

Video notes:
All views expressed on SUWA/BLM/Moab closures are my opinions, but my videos of these trails provide evidence of my opinions being correct. The whole series was filmed over a year at different times to see these "problematic" trails at different times. Mashed potatoes was created as Mashed Potatoe and many use that name as well as Mashed Potatoes. I like Potatoes as that's what it looks like. Gravy Boat and Gravy Bowl have also been used interchangeably. Trails were closed in October of 2023, but there was an appeal that kept them open when this was filmed. I was hopeful that the appeal would fix the mismanagement. Zak and I are going to make the best trail guide ever of a brutal Colorado trail... we're bringing friends and I'll hopefully have 35s on the JL (I need them, failed on 33s, but it was raining).
About Colorado Mallcrawlers:
We are a channel that aims to show incredible off-road trails and our adventures to get through them with stock or your not so typical off-road vehicles. If that sounds like a fun watch, we'd love to have you as a subscriber! The channel membership was created to give our community the best trail info on youtube quicker since trail/overland guides take a while to create. Video Editors are Drew Hunter and Dewie Jones. We're always looking for more offroad video editors as we film a ton of trails (100% of adsense goes to the editor).
Channel Members have access to our filming schedule and I want you to be in the videos! The Black Bear crew gets additional easy to edit videos but offer more up to date info on trails (since guides take a while to put together). The Holy Cross crew gets more say in what videos get edited for the channel (video credits and early looks at Trail Guide edits). / @coloradomallcrawlers
TrailsOffroad:
This channel is my creative outlet so I don't need to push stuff out to people. I will promote TrailsOffroad because OnX has bought out everyone else (they even tried to sponsor me… a guy with two anti-OnX videos!). Watch my OnX vs TrailsOffroad video to see the differences. Do the trial first to make sure they have trails in your area, if so, then use our affiliate code for a big discount (it helps me buy new cameras too).
