Stockholm, Galärvarvet. The maritime history museum's ship pier with museum ships. Icebreaker, lightship, wood boat, minesweeper. Text, subtitles in English and some other languages.
The following historic ships were moored at the pier:
- Sweden's first sea-going icebreaker Sankt Erik delivered in 1915, was built to keep the waterways in the Baltic Sea open to Stockholm even in winter. But also served in the Gulf of Bothnia and around the Scanian coast.
- The lighthouse Finngrundet was at anchor in the southern Bothnian Sea in the Baltic Sea, north of Åland. It was replaced in 1969 by a bottom-fixed lighthouse.
- The Vedett boat Sprängaren is the world's only remaining military steamship from the First World War, which can go under its own power. It happened in 2022 after standing still for almost 50 years and 15 years of extensive renovation. The ship is owned and managed by the association Vedettbåten Sprängaren.
- The minesweeper M22 was launched in 1941 and built at Karlskrona Orlogsvarv. But similar ships were also built in private shipyards, as the demand for warships was high at the time. The model is designed by designer Jac Iversen.

The Galley yard in Stockholm is an area on southern Djurgården that began to be used in the 18th century for setting up galley ships. Later there were both shipyards and workshops. And for a short period at the beginning of the 20th century, also a base for naval aviation and the air fleet (seaplanes were then used). It was in addition to the previous facilities at Skeppsholmen and Blasieholmen. In 1969, the business moved out to the naval base at Muskö in the Stockholm archipelago.
The Maritime History Museum has had its main building at Ladugårdsgärdet in Stockholm since 1938. There is no access to water there, so for museum ships there is Sjöhistoriska's ship pier at Galärvarvet. It is normally open between May and September. But on April 20, 2024, there was an open house in connection with the event Stockholm's culture night, and then many people took the opportunity to pay a visit.
